this isn't very true. i deal with cyclical depressive episodes and will get to lows where i'm actively suicidal. and i don't want to tell anyone when i am because 1) i'm embarrassed and 2) i know if i tell someone i will get help and get better and in that moment i don't want that, i want to die
but every time i make sure i reach out and tell someone. either contact my therapist or let my wife know i'm having the thoughts and it takes the power out of them.
