It’s the most difficult sport that I’ve ever taken on.

You keep a score and determine a winner

I think it's a game but real athletes now play it. You can still be a midget weighing 135 lbs ala Justin Thomas and still ball out though.

Does it take a judge to determine the winner? Then yes, it is a sport

Since you don't play I will give you a set of sticks with a flat portion on the end and have you walk 18 holes and see how things turn out, you can make your own judgement from there!

I would say no. Skill, yes. Physical exertion, no

The skill required in golf is enormous. Is it physically exhausting, not often. But I don't think that's a requirement of sport.

Physical exertion AND skill. I don't consider golf physically demanding. I'm sure others will beg to differ

What does this mean?

Every sport requires a certain skill set.

Walk 18 holes for four days straight while hitting a golf ball 70+ times with absolute precision and tell me how that works out for you.

So strength, flexibility, fatigue etc play zero part in how good a person is? Those seem like physical characteristics to me.

I'm a 40-something year old dude with a typical Dad bod and could do 3 out of 4 of those things fairly easily.

The precision thing being the one that gets me lol.

It's the middle of the summer here in North Texas, temps or feels like temps often well up over 110-115, and I'll go and hit, I don't know, I guess 200 or so golf balls over the course of 2-2.5 hours a couple of times a week, sometimes multiple days in a row. It's really not difficult even with the heat.

But I still suck royally, no question there.

false. Walking 5-6 miles on varying terrains and also maintaining the capacity to then be able to swing a club perfectly every time is physically demanding for anyone

So is throwing a baseball

Where did you get physically demanding out of physical exertion?
