It's hard to not think that McHale is the reason they can't usually close games.

My overreacting brother always wants him fired, but I'm starting to agree. I would LOVE it if we hired one of the Van Gundys. I think this team is ready for it. Stan and Dwight supposedly get along again. D'Antoni made Dwight appreciate SVG.

With Bobby Petrino back coaching Louisville, if SVG somehow coached Dwight again, it would be a clear indicator of the Apocolypse being near.

15 games over .500

Lin with a triple double. Dwight, Beard and Jones with good numbers. Beverly did everything but score.

Big win vs Phoenix. Dwight with 34 & 14. Rockets have won 8 of 11.

Team is starting to come together. Looking forward to getting asik/garcia back, this 8 man rotation is gonna wear our guys down. Was hoping to get some help from WAS or NYK tonight both teams were looking like they could get the W but it didn't work out.

NYK's hero threes and Portland missing free throws made that game look closer than it was. I thought we were going to blow that lead

After last night, the Rockets took home court in the playoffs from the Clippers even though the Clippers are still in 4th.

The Rockets are technically 4th.

Jeff is a better coach. He was released 2 years early IMO. Injuries didn't help his case either.

I love the Rockets. I remember the Clyde the Glide and Hakeem days - was able to get good tickets cheap through Hakeem.

Does anyone else think Asik comes back and makes a huge impact?

Maybe I'm overly optimistic on this one, and probably in the minority, but if his attitude is right...

No. Sucks too, because I actually like him

It's not. He wants out, Rockets want him out, no one will give up what Houston wants.

So you think he just pouts all year under the guise of a thigh bruise? He's practicing now. You don't think his teammates would call him out at that point? That he may consider the long term damage he will do to his career? It doesn't mean he has to like his PT or situation, but if he ever wants his value high enough to be traded or valued as a FA, then he needs to play. And I'm sure his agent knows that.

I think the die has already been cast. he's not going anywhere. no other team will pay the baloon payment (real money not cap money) due to him next year. Morey has even told season ticket holders behind closed doors that he will be there for the remainder of his contract. He will not get traded at 60 cents on the dollar. Morey has never done that before, I wouldn't expect his to start that now.

So he plays, or he pouts on the bench for another 1.5 years. I would bet he plays.

I think he'll make a big impact. He was playing fine until he got hurt.

I've said from the beginning that it would be best if he stayed. He's starting to realize that he has hurt his value by not playing.

I stand by this. I don't think he plays again this year. I'd like him to play because I think he helps the team, and could take some pressure off of Howard.

Eta: I'll be more than happy to eat crow. Just my opinion here.

Asik: "It feels good to be back on the court." Says he feels close to 100%, looking forward to going through full practice tomorrow.

Looks like Rockets are climbing up Hollinger's rankings (5th in NBA)
and Stein's power rankings (7th in NBA)

Nice.

Yeah and it took forever. I hated looking at that shite everyday and see Minnesota at #5 and then a team like phoenix or Toronto in the top 7. The margin of victory apparently weighs heavily, hence the Minn rankings being so high, but they're 1-10 in their games to get over .500.
