How often does VGK wear whites at home? Wish the Stars did that from time to time.

A few home games a year. Usually matinee or holiday games.
Tough loss for VGK tonight. Gave up 2 third period goals in 39 seconds and lost to the Sharks 3-2. Broke VGK's 7 game win streak and extended SJ's win streak to 5. Also moved SJ into 2nd ahead of the Knights in the Pacific, one point behind Calgary.

Avalanche own Senators #1 pick this year. So no chance Hughes goes to Senators.

I don’t know why the Blues would want him when his deal up up after this year and the team is awful. Makes no sense to me.

Should have been a lot worse as well if not for Dobby.
You could just see this loss coming. Momentum was rising, headlines were getting better since the Lites tirade and then this? Why you may ask?
The last 13 Stars goals have come from Seguin, Benn, Rads, Klingberg and Miro. There is absolutely no scoring depth on this team, an issue that was prevalent all last season as well but nothing was done to address it

pretty remarkable when you think about it. Just not enough scorers on lines 2-4. Also we have been dealing with a lot of injuries on the defensive side. idk seems like this team will be fighting for a wild card spot all year

because the blues need a #1 desperately, and you could possibly spin Allen in contract dumps to cbus, in a multi player deal. Bad Cbus contract for Allen + others in big deal.

the freaking lightning are already at 70 pts.
12 pts clear of Toronto and Washington for the top seed in east
10 pts clear of Calgary and predators for Presidents'
insane. 34-8-2 . what an absurd record . 1.59 points earned per game.

Bobrovsky is almost as bad as Allen right now. And he’s only a rental. Pass.

Bob has played well his last 10 or so games.

Canes held them to two or three shots in the first and play their guts out and still had no shot. They just got stronger and stronger as the game when on. F the bolts!

we also know what Bob can do. Allen never could, and never will.
Unless the team is going to tank, no reason not to look for your future #1 goalie.

NHL tests player-tracking technology that could fundamentally change how we watch the game
video

It was hidden inside the rubber of the pucks, and within the thread of each player’s shoulder pads, safely concealed by their sweater.
This week microchips were implanted and tracked live during a regular season game for the first time in NHL history. The tracking system was first tested in Tuesday’s game between the Golden Knights and Rangers, and Thursday the NHL granted The Athletic behind the scenes access to the infinite possibilities that come with this new form of tracking.
The possibilities are endless, and they all begin with a tiny ultra wideband microchip, and 18 tracking antennas mounted high above the ice.
“I’m so happy with the fact that all of this technology will give all of our fans an opportunity to get closer to the game,” NHL commissioner Gary Bettman told The Athletic. “We have a lot of time and money invested in player and puck tracking, so to see it working so well is really exciting.”
How quickly a player skates on a breakaway. How fast a slap shot is traveling when a player swiftly deflects it past the goalie with the blade of his stick. The exact length and velocity of a perfect saucer pass through two defenders. The potential is infinite.

I know goals are up overall but they are leaving everyone else in the dust. League average is 3.0/game. 2nd and 3rd highest is 3.6 (TOR/CGY). The Bolts are at 4.1 (!)
#1 power play
Top 10 goals allowed (despite more open games with offense being so dominant)
Top 10 penalty kill
Vasilevsky has barely played half the games
#1 regulation winning %
Top 5 OT winning %
Perfect in shootouts
A cup is never a shoe-in in hockey more than any other sport...but at current strength I don't see any justification to pick against them to win 4 out of 7. Syracuse has also been unbelievable in development, they have so much depth.

Is hockey the first sport to put a chip in the ball/puck?
Posted on 1/11/19 at 6:10 pm to KosmoCramer
He’s still only a rental. Blues shouldn’t be stupid and give up good young players for a rental when they are this bad.

I read something similar on The Athletic. I’m sure some will like new ways to watch games. But I’m good with the usual telecast.
