Its not.

At best DC would be on the lower end of the Northern Atlantic.

I love the random Preds fans who pop up every April. Anybody who has watched hockey this year knows Nashville isn't going anywhere in the playoffs.

8-2–1 last 11. 2nd Line has come together and Fabbro is legit. Watson coming back is huge for us. Anyone who doesn’t think Preds can go deep is with Rinne and Saros is retarded.

Congrats to all the fans with teams making the playoffs, now its time to enjoy the best playoffs within sports!!!

Lightning finished a historical regular season yesterday, and it was awesome watching this team break so many team and individual records on the way. Getting 62 wins outta 82 games within today's NHL is not an easy task, and odds are, the Lightning don't sniff that number ever again. Enjoying their rare accomplishment for 24 more hours, and then it's off to freaking out about the playoffs.

Again, congrats to all
The best playoffs in sports is here
Wooo hooooo

I was looking at the Lightning numbers and achievements- truly a historic season.

I’m very happy my Avs made the playoff two years in a row. Playing the Flames makes an upset seem possible after the history of many years of dealing them as a division rival.

NHL needs to redo its seeding back to 1-8.

Then the NHL needs to get rid of divisions. I hate 1-8 only. You play to win championships and your first goal is to win your division.

Divisions can still matter. They do in every other sport. Just go back to like it was with 1-3 being division winners and then points 4-8. Reseed after each round to actually reward the regular season.

The way that the best teams are punished for a strong division and have conference final worthy matchups in the second round is old. Those Caps-Penguins series should have all been conference finals.

Tampa has the best season of all time and could get the second best team in the second round? This happens nearly every year. No system is perfect but the current one is tragically flawed.

First off, congrats to the Tampa Bay Lightning, who had a truly historic regular season. They destroyed all comers and notched the best regular season in years. they are awesome, and were a joy to watch. They didn't just win, they won playing entertaining, skillful hockey.

I'm personally thrilled the Caps avoid the Blue Jackets, the lower seeded team that scares me the most. It was touch and go, but the Canes ended up in WC1 meaning the Bolts reward for the best season in memory is one of the most loaded wild card teams you can think of, followed by the winner of the Bruins-Leafs. A simply ridiculous draw for a President's Trophy winner.

Ovi won the Rocket Richard again. He now has more 50-goal seasons than every other active player. Combined.

Woah. Slow down.

Right now, the Bolts aren't even at the same level of the Rock the Red era Caps. The Caps have netted 120+ standings points in two seasons this decade (2010 and 2016) and won a Stanley Cup. The Red Wings had 124 points in 05-06, the only team to do it between the Caps and the 70s Canadiens. Now, admittedly, now there's the loser point to goose overall records, but this Lightning team right now is a dominant regular season champ on the level of the 2010 Caps, only without doing it a second time and then winning the title. The Bolts still have a playoffs to win before they can talk about the 2010 Caps, much less the 80s Oilers.

Gotta win a Cup. Because the lasting memory of that season is The Halaking. I sincerely hope the Bolts' enduring memory of this season is getting Bob'ed.

I was just thinking right now a single season and if they win it

Until they rip 3 n a row they won’t be in upper tier of great clubs.

William Hill currently has the Caps at 11/1 to repeat. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but it's awful tempting.
