That ejection is exactly why soccer will never grow here.

My thoughts as well. The Bosnia player on the kickoff after the first goal try to do a screen with elbows to the head. Foul on USA somehow. Usually fouls to the head are the serious penalties in Football, Hockey, etc. This just looked like a common foul to me.

I don’t watch soccer much buts seems like a bad call, especially to come from a review.

I can’t wait for Auburn’s yellow jerseys!

Our SOS would definitely be higher if LSU were swapped out with a higher quality opponent, like Ole Miss

Burn!

Although Auburn hasn’t been much help in SoS either.

Where does the Gus firing rank amongst the sec’s worst firings?

I think the firing would be alright if the hiring after was better than what we fired. It was obviously not.
 that’s pretty good one.
He made a very poor decision. Drink safe, and don’t drive under the influence!

Eh. Considering who they played that wasn’t too hard to accomplish.

I didn't realize how garbage the SEC was.

I was young at the time and they seemed good. Just looked back at the stat line from the Auburn-State game. Auburn rushed 42 times for 39 yards against them. And 7 for 28, 125 passing. And Auburn blew a 16-3 lead in the 4th.

With less than a minute to go, and up 16-10, Tuberville decided it was best to take a safety on purpose (ball was on the 22 or so). State returned the safety punt to midfield and ended up scoring a last second TD. A JP Sports Classic

State in 1999 was 10-2.

I remember that team having some massive defensive linemen and an great overall defense.
SEC needed a new Villain!

zero sense for UGA-MSU to play at 11am on Saturday when the next game isn’t until 6pm.

Looks like they made it so baseball would be played all day with a different start time for each. 11:00, 12:00, 2:00, 3:00, 5:00, 6:00, 8:00, 9:00.

They let us have the Rock M back!

Who is “they”? Forgive my ignorance.

Pretty sure Butch now has 4 by himself.

He has 5. 2018, 2019, 2022, 2025, 2026.

Didn't expect Auburn to be on the list

Yeah, Auburn had only gone once prior to the hiring of Butch Thompson. And that was in 1999. This is Auburn’s 5th Super Regional in the last 8 seasons (last 9 years because of COVID cancelled season).
quote:

That is why it is important to develop pitching depth during the season. You have 26 OOC games along with 30 conference games to do so. It is imperative to give those young pitchers and others opportunities to pitch so that when the regionals come about, you are prepared if you lose an early game.

Auburn has used 15 pitchers on the year. They used 14 pitchers for the regional. (1 is injured). They won the regional because of their pitching depth. 4 pitchers threw over 100 pitches total for the regional with the highest being 113.

Dalton is a dolt.

 Going on about Auburn getting late games and having no clue they were because of rain delay. Meanwhile Auburn has a scheduled Super Regional Saturday at 4pm CT while his team is scheduled to start at 8pm.
quote:

According to the SEC website yesterday afternoon, the Auburn game last night was scheduled for a 8 pm cst start. It started at 8:06 cst, a six minute delay. It ended at 11:35 cst. Auburn is about 20 minutes from the eastern time zone. For fans living there the game ended after midnight.

quote:

The winner takes all contest initially scheduled for 5 p.m. CT will now start at 8 p.m. due to an approaching storm. It’s the second day in a row Auburn has had a game’s start time delayed, as bad weather has been prevalent throughout the weekend.

(b) didn't break out the self serving "what's best for student athletes" crap when he gave this opinion months ago.

He said it 2 days ago after the regional. I guess technically it was last month since it was on May 31.
quote:

If I were him I’d be more upset about them being scheduling a top 8 seed for the midnight games.

They weren't scheduled for those times. There were tons of rain delays. 2pm First Pitch ended at 10pm. This board is so dumb sometimes.

This his first rodeo?

He just won his 5th Regional in the last 8 Seasons.

It seams like a fair point for the Regional Format. It's not like he's the only only coach advocating for it.

Following Sunday's 6-4 win over UC Santa Barbara that advanced UT to the NCAA super regionals for the first time since 2023, UT's head coach suggested the NCAA should change the format of its postseason. Schlossnagle pointed out that best-of-three series make up the bulk of the regular season, but series are only used to decide the super regionals and College World Series championships.

Arky at Utah will be an interesting one, what a weird matchup

Damn that is a late game. But yeah, could be a good one.
