Does the basketball team have lots of openings over there Baton Rouge?

One thing everyone misses about Stetson is that he was born in Oct 1997, so he turned 20 during his true freshman walk-on season at UGA

Looks like he took awhile to get through High School. No wonder he couldn’t get a degree in his 8 years at UGA.

This ninth game in a top to bottom conference produces way more tv money for the networks

Agree with that statement. And from what I have seen they agreed to somewhere between 50-80 Mil for 8 more SEC games. Which trades 16 mostly lower viewership games for 8 SEC conference games. I’m sure there was a lot of research and negotiation to come up with the add in revenue.

I might see a majority on this board say that we should not have done this without a huge bump in TV revenue

They did increase revenue for going to 9 games.

I’m for it, I just wish there was more uniformity on all conferences doing the same.

Big10, Big12, and kinda ACC has a 9 game schedule.
The 2023 class at IMG had 2 top 10 NFL Draft Picks last season.

I think they are ignoring some of Auburn’s National Championships!
I’ve never seen that happen before. I remember Georgia having an incredible majorette throwing the batons sky high with fire and doing crazy stuff. This was probably around like 2008. The student section for Auburn was cheering her on big time.
Is the QB Trent Seaborn the one that played in the State Championship as an 8th Grader and balled out?

I think the mistake was trying to play both sports, which ultimately hurt his performance in both.

Maybe so. I guess we will never know.

According to Perfect Game, Robby Ashford was the top baseball prospect in Alabama, was ranked No. 160 for the 2020 MLB Draft, and was recruited by Ole Miss (to play baseball).

Instead, over six years he went to Oregon, Auburn, South Carolina, and Wake Forest to try and play QB.

Nice kid, but I don't think it was the right decision.

Ashford began his college career at Oregon. He did not appear in any games for the football team in two seasons. Ashford played for Oregon's baseball team during his freshman year, playing in 20 games as an outfielder and batting .200. He decided to focus solely on football after his freshman year.

I’ve been manually syncing the radio and TV the past few years. Which is pausing and trying to get it just right. I found it was easiest around kickoff. And every now and then it requires another pause.

I do enjoy the radio broadcast. It seems more detailed and accurate. I’ll have to check this out.
Week 1 seems kind of weak across the board as far as watching football goes. Last year was a very good week 1.
Looks like 2015 was unanimous for Ohio State #1 in the preseason. And the last time before that looks like 1989 preseason poll didn’t have a first place vote for an SEC Team. Including the new comers to the SEC.

247 has him listed as 5'8" 160 lbs. I've also seen 5'7" 150 lbs and 5'6 140 lbs. so who knows?

He looks pretty small out there.

ETA: and I’m not hating on his size. To be that size and getting major playing time at D1 school like Troy is an accomplishment. And shows he has the ability to play at high level.

Being an Auburn fan ain’t for the faint of heart.

If I were an Auburn fan, I'd be like come on Cam. But I'm a Mizzou fan and Cam Newton dressed in Mizzou gear is kinda awesome.

It is weird to see. But at least it’s not at one of our rival schools. Although they probably don’t want to see Cam in their gear either.

FREEZE 4 is done, son?

Is over. Now the USF Bulls 4 or 5 era at WR. Plus the TE?

I was hoping to see Bryce Cain more this year. Maybe he will transition to a good CB.
quote:

He apparently has some association with Cayden Lee (like some sort of mentoring role)

Yeah I saw that too. Some other connections too.

Curtis Looper was the recruiting coordinator at Auburn during Cam’s recruitment. He went to Blinn to look at WR that didn’t end up coming to AU and told Gus he had to see this QB there. And from there Cam ended up coming to Auburn.

Drinkwitz was also at Auburn when Cam was there, but I’m not sure if they knew each other well then or not.
College Sports is so wild now. Looks like he ran out of eligibility last year, declared for the draft, went undrafted, then became eligible from court ruling in July. Now is practicing with Auburn with less than 3 weeks before the first game. And I would assume this would be his last year to be able to play, but who knows.
