Do not want to see CBJ again in the first round this year. They’re figuring it out. I’ll take Carolina please.

I like our chances more than yours, but we will see how it goes.

And that Colorado point may do you in.

It's a combination of two perfect storms right now.

Bob is playing other-worldly, and our lines are meshing really well post trade deadline.

It's a small sample size, and it's the Jackets.

Either way, I agree it's still scarier than the bunch of jerks from Carolina.

What a tip by Kerfoot at the end to tie it! I think that’s 8 straight games with a point now for Colorado (6-0-2 I think).

It’s unlikely, but the Avs could clinch tonight if they beat Edm, Minny loses in any fashion, and Arizona loses in regulation.

I don’t think that’s right. Avs would be up 4 points with at best 35 ROW. If they were to lose last two and Yotes win both in regulation, Yotes would have 36 ROW and get in. Even if Yotes only won one in regulation and they’re tied in ROW, Yotes win next tiebreaker head to head.

Avs Magic number is 5, a Yotes loss and Avs win would for all intents and purposes end the race, but not officially clinch.

CBJ could clinch a playoff spot tonight if the stars align. About two weeks ago, I thought they were toast.

You’re right. I forgot the Yotes still own the tiebreaker even after the loss in Denver on Friday.

My mistake. For some reason I thought it was 4

Also, I was at the game Friday and I saw a white guy with face tats and a New Iberia haircut wearing a half 90s coyotes/half 90s Avs Claude Lemieux jersey. It gave me a good laugh

I’d like to speculate where such an individual would originate from, but I got nothing.

Anyone but Columbus. Not only is C-bus more talented overall, they have the best goalie, which always factors into your fear of a series. But also, this is the last ride and they know it. Panarin, Duchene, and Bob are all UFA's and its unlikely they all come back. They have to win now.

And that scares the bejeezus out of me. No thank you. Give me Carolina or Montreal.

So habs win and Carolina loses it is a tie for WC1 correct?

It is

CBJ 94
CAR 93
MTL 92

All with 79 games played

Am I reading the standings correctly?

Columbus plays tonight as well.

ETA: And Columbus holds the tiebreakers vs Habs and Canes. Insurmountable on the Habs, and with 1 ROW in the last three, insurmountable on the Canes.

Has the tiebreaker game ever been played? I’m guessing not since it’s very unlikely both teams would have the same goal differential.
