If I was owner/coach and this was a thing. I would sign a shite ton of olineman and dlineman and rotate them out in full lineup shifts. Kind of like a hockey team.

nah, I just think you should be allowed to dress all 53 active roster guys and hell, even the practice squad as well as emergency players

Sean Payton needs to advocate for running the goddamn ball more

They can start the change by calling targeting when one our guys gets smoked in the ear hole

I’ve said this for years. 18-game proposals aren’t particularly on the table recently, but when they were, I was surprised that roster increases weren’t simultaneous. Whether or not you support 18, you gotta think increased rosters would go hand in hand with just about any safety concern.

now for college i think both FCS and FBS should play with the 63 scholarship limit...
Why would you advocate for fewer players to receive free educations? There are 130 FBS programs and each are allotted 85 scholarships. Removing 22 scholarships takes away educational opportunities for 2860 student athletes. Most college football players rely on football to be able to get an education. I just can't get on board with that.

In today’s game seems like they need room for a couple more DL’s and maybe for a couple more offensive skill guys and maybe 1 or 2 more DBs.
An increase of roster size by 8 or 10 players.

Most college football players arent getting an education. They take complete bullshite classes across the board to stay eligible for the games.
In my experience (LSU), about 10-15% of football players take meaningful schedules

As of 2017, LSU's football graduation rate was 78%, so you're wrong. And regardless of what their major is, a college degree is still going to much more valuable for finding a job after football than the alternative. The vast majority of college football players will never play professional football. These are the athletes that would get screwed over by cutting scholarships by 25% and why it is an awful proposal.

That doesnt prove anything I said was wrong.
They take complete garbage classes/schedules across the board.

sure it does. You said they aren't getting an education. If you can't see the value of a college degree in today's society, whatever major that may be, then you may be too young to know that a college degree is a prerequisite in almost any job these days. Read my edit, we're not talking about the elite athletes with promising professional careers who don't take school seriously. We 're talking about the other 80% that rely on getting that free education to make something of themselves. many of these marginal scholarship players do take school more seriously because many of them are well-aware that their football scholarship is a ticket to a better life with a college degree.
That's quite a blanket statement you're making whatever the case, and you've still provided no real reason to cut scholarships 25%.

Neither is the players union at heart, that is why the CTE thing is truly going to go through the liberal grinder. By that I mean even if and players know fully now the risks involved with head injuries and football, almost every one of them will continue to play as long as someone will pay them to even with the information.

Yea a specific degree.
Look, these guys are coddled completely through their sociology and general studies degrees their entire time at LSU.

I wasnt providing reason to cut scholarships. Was simply responding to you

and? True or false. Having a college degree is more valuable and makes you more marketable for employment than a high school diploma.

Gotcha, so you're arguing for the sake of arguing because some athletes don't take school seriously

Well shite.
Everyone and their grandma has a college degree these days. Getting some random bullshite degree from LSU isnt setting you apart from the herd.

Actually, as of 2018, the college graduation rate for this country is 28.8%, so again, you are wrong. But if "everyone and their grandma" has a college degree these days, wouldn't you say not having one is going to set you behind "the herd." Saying that only reinforces my previous point that having a degree is becoming a prerequisite for most jobs, so wouldn't it be fair to say not having one limits your opportunities significantly?
It's ok to walk away from this argument, you're not doing a good job.

You keeps saying these ridiculous statements, do you really believe some of these "facts" you have come up with. Im not trying to be a dick, but first you said most college football players are not getting an education, then now a majority of the population are getting degrees....

Smh.
Im talking about a group within a group. If youre applying for a job that requires a degree, people without a degree dont even matter. They arent applying for said job. You are competing with people with a degree so your sociology degree from LSU isnt setting you apart from anyone in that group.
These LSU athletes arent there getting engineering, mathematics, and computer science degrees. They are getting degrees which qualify them for jobs that just require a degree.
