Many on here underrate the frick out of pippen. Made the 50 greatest players of all time list and people on here act like he was a nobody compared to other greats

Yeah that list was what, nearly 20 years ago? He was in the bottom quarter of that list, not even sure he makes it today.

There are ~5-6 players I can think of right off the bat since that last that established themselves after that list that have better cases than he does.

I wonder how weird it must be to be one of the greatest ever [Pippen] and yet still be nearly and afterthought to your teammate [MJ].

So now being the 55th greatest player ever is considered a knock?

I think Lebron is way more of a comparison to Magic. I mean Lebron has the ball on almost every offensive possesion. Scottie wasnt like that at all

kinda agree. Scottie actually did have the ball on most Bulls possessions. he brought the ball up and initiated the offense a good bit. but he obviously didn't have to do as much on every possession as Lebron does.

one comparison you could make with Lebron is the Detroit/ pre-injury version of Grant Hill. GHill used to do everything for that team. I think he led em in scoring, rebounding and assists multiple yrs.

Correct. Scottie did bring the ball up, but I mean he averaged 16/5, compared to Lebron averaging 27/7 Scottie made his impact on the game for sure, but he didnt have nearly the hand in the offense as Lebron does

Well at least he's got this part right.

He had a better jumpshot and played 10x better D. He drove the lane to make hoops just like Lebron. Was a much better teammate than Bron. And was a key factor in winning 6[SIX] NBA Titles....

I have ZERO problem saying Pippen was better.................

That's fine. You don't have any statistical argument to back that assertion up but that's fine.

That doesn't mean their skill sets aren't similar. It just means Pippen played with Jordan. I have no problem with his comparison. Scottie had a very diverse skillset, just like LeBron.

That said, I think LeBron is elite at a wide variety of skills, which makes comparisons to many other great players easy to make. He's Bird2.0/Magic2.0/Scottie2.0, and none of those comparisons are wrong.

Pippen averaged 16 points and 5 assist with MJ. If Lebron played with MJ he would average around 20/10. Lebron would have been a triple double machine

What's your point? Scottie didn't say LeBron wasn't better, just that he's the closest player to LeBron's skill set to come before him. In 2011, Scottie said LeBron was the best to ever play. It's pretty easy to understand why he would view it like that. Scottie has always viewed LeBron as a better version of himself, rather than the next Magic or Bird or Jordan. And I don't disagree with him.

Screw stats...Pippen was a better jumpshooter than Bron. Pippen played way better defense than Bron. He was a better teammate than Bron. Pippen was a huge factor in the Bulls winning 6 titles.........

What more do you need to know???????? None of this is debatable..............

Well, if you consider Lebron to be Dwayne Wade's sidekick, then I guess so.

Because he took a back seat to Jordan most years. In his lone full year without him he did have a LBJ lite stat line.
