Just switch any race in place of man there and see what the reaction would be

ESPN host Scott Van Pelt said that Hill’s tweet had sparked personal introspection. “What’s messed up is I always allow the woman to leave the elevator first. Just trying to be a gentleman. Never thinking, this could cause anxiety. Always ask : which floor do you need? Same reason. Will have to rethink these things,” he tweeted.
Go right ahead and cut a woman off while getting out of the elevator and she'll blast the shite out of you on Twitter, Scott.

Jemelle Hill is one woman who is pretty safe from sexual assault.

I’m not really seeing a melt overall in this thread, but congrats on big city life, probably makes you a more well rounded person.

I’m sure that made her feel very comfortable

What a loon.
She sounds like a 95 year-old grandma that is terrified of everything.

Stupid. It's not my job to make complete strangers feel comfortable.
If she doesn't feel comfortable she needs to make accommodations for herself to get that way.
You also assume all instances of a woman feeling uncomfortable are rational and reasonable. Women are the most likely to have mental issues and be on medication for anxiety/depression.
She can go to her psychiatrist or doctor if she wants, but her problems are not my burdens to bear.

Yet if someone switched "dude" with "black person", she would be up in arms. She is illogical

I was thinking she might complain about equal rights or something, similar to absurd complaints about men holding the door open for women and whatnot, but this took a turn that was next level idiotic. Wow.
Yep. Hold the door or let women off the elevator first, you are an old-fashioned chauvinist that thinks women are weaker. Do the opposite and you are a potential "predator" causing "panic."
There is always some form of oppression / reason to complain, and normies can't win, while the "victims" can't lose.

so let me see if I've assessed this correctly..You, xiv, if you see a woman in front of you alone on the street by herself, your first instinct is to briskly walk towards her from behind? A few questions on this
How do you expect she feel in the moments leading up to the final moment that you pass by her? Do you think your approach in those seconds leading up to the pass scare her just as much if you mind your own business like a normal human being and don't think about it?
ETA: I live in big city, I don't look/act like a creep slowly strolling behind women at an odd pace and I don't give these things a second thought because I have other things to worry about. Yes. There are bad people out there.

But she's right. In the fricked up environments leftists have created, she does have to think twice about having an unfamiliar man behind her (possibly a familiar man). Just like I have to suspect every woman of being a crazy bitch.

Silly take. I live in one of the biggest cities in the country and this mess is pure poppycock.

Stupid move. How about mind your own damn business and act normal?

That's called having an anxiety disorder, not a commentary of the male predators out there.

Yea my wife travels alone all the time & it’s a legit threat for a woman walking alone. Most nights if it’s late, she’ll get a coworker to escort her up to her room

What about treating women like bears? We need to make as much noise as possible to draw attention in the hopes that we don't startle her and other people will know we are there
