"Our university is committed to playing no matter what. Whoever or whatever that looks like. We want to play no matter who it is or where is. We'll see how the chips fall. I hope it's in the B10, but if not we are prepared to look at other options"

I'm willing to trade Mizzuruh to the B1G for Nebrasky.

Nebraska is not going to play with another conference. The B1G is never going to let that happen.

Perhaps they could cobble together a regional G5 schedule, but that would be about it.

Nebraska's passion for football has become grossly underrated.

What's the Big 10 going to do sue them? If all of this plays out as is the Big 10 might cease to exist, literally. Nebraska and any university that does end up playing will rake in and unreal amount of money this year.

The Big 10 thinks they can cancel and pretend everyone will go along. This shite changes the landscape of college forever. There is no "let's just go back to normal next year" if Big 10 opts our and the other conference decide to play.

Yes.

How so? Their TV money comes through the conference. If they don't have a conference schedule (meaning no games), and with the other conferences cancelling non-conf. games--who is Nebraska going to play and who is going to pay the school money to broadcast it? Besides there will not be any fans at these games. Even the schools that play are likely going to lose money this year, across the board.

The B1G schools definitely are going to go along with it--it was their decision. The coaches will scream, but if their own university leaders voted not to have a season--there will not be a season. The B1G office did not do this on its own. The schools chose it.

It’s a two way contract. If they don’t fulfill their side of the agreement, there not gonna have much leg to stand on if Nebraska finds somewhere else to make their money.

Nebraska and Iowa didn't vote to cancel. The Big Ten can sue all they want. They are reneging in their contract with Nebraska not the other way around. Nebraska is it's own entity and can do whatever they want. They left the Big 12 didn't they? Did the Big 12 sue?
As for money, whichever conference accepts them on a 1 year basis will split a share to them just like the ND situation. These programs make most of their money on tv deals and apparel contracts. The fans that support the program monetarily will do so whether they can attend or not. The programs will not lose money if they play. The universities either because tuition is still being paid.

Nebraska and Iowa didn't choose it.

NCAA should just step up and say that if a conference cancels their season but some members of that conference still want to play, they can do so as an FBS independent for this season and are free to work out their own independent schedule and TV deal for this season. Put in a requirement for minimum number of games played by a certain date to be eligible for CFP

If this were true the announcement would’ve already been made.

Sure the presidents have the balls to leak they are cancelling, but are they gonna have the guts to do it when no one else joins them and a couple of the other conferences (including some of their own teams) end up playing and making a frick ton of money?

yeah if the SEC, ACC, Big12, and a few breakaway independents are raking in TV money while half the conference is going bankrupt, then what do we really think will happen?
