What's it going to take to move up?

quote:

The Bears are due for a lucrative offseason.

According to ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Bears have ownership of a "lottery ticket" and can "cash it in" if they wish to.

"I can just tell you right now, that the Bears are going to have the opportunity to listen to some unbelievable offers for the No. 1 pick," Schefter said on ESPN 1000's Waddle & Silvy. "And they're gonna have the chance to parlay that one pick – that came as a benefit from the Houston Texans, playing a game that they never should have won – into a bevy of future picks that can set up that franchise for years to come."

Sheesh. Talk about a reaction from one of the NFL's most prominent and accurate voices.

Someone is going to give them a Ricky Williams level trade to get Young at #1.....and it's probably going to be the Falcons or Panthers.

I was thinking the same thing

Someone at ESPN shares that a team with the 1st pick in the NFL draft can trade it for lots of picks(no shite).

Then someone at NBC Sports reports this groundbreaking news and comments “gee golly, wowzers big news if true!”

At that point in the season, yes the Texans should’ve made sure to lose that game for the #1 pick.

Doubt it, there is no Burrow or TLaw in this top 10.

Maybe don't fire the coach and then tell him to go lose on purpose to get good draft picks he won't be around for

There isn't a qb available worth trading up to the first pick for. The Bears aren't drafting a qb. Call their bluff and wait.

He knew what he was getting into after they fired Culley. There was no way in hell that he was the long-term answer.

Journalism today is reactions we don’t care about and making outlandish claims to self promote or to promote something you’re invested in

It's insane how much more valuable this years first pick is compared to the Jags last year.

You're missing the point. Yes, Lovie knew he was fired but they still let him coach the last game. So he said frick the franchise I'm gonna do what a coach is supposed to do, try to win

I don't think either of them will do it. Colts and Raiders immediately came to mind as two teams who could pull the trigger on something like this. Especially the Colts. If they really like Bryce Young, I think they'd move up to get him with the added bonus of not having to play against him twice a year with Houston picking #2.

Not about what the bears will do, if your a team that wants a specific QB the risk is another team making a trade or the Texans taking that guy at 2.

Have to go get the guy you want if you believe one of them is good

Drafting out of desperation is a bad move in the NFL regarding qb. None of the top guys are Burrow esque. GM's would be foolish to spend draft capital for any of them.
