Yes, with a tee. I think maybe a 3 step run up. I admittedly also shanked a bunch.
Also, a college extra point is nowhere near 36 yards.
ETA, my sister in law has a funny video of me shanking one and the kick hit the top of the cup of hot cocoa my niece was running toward my brother with. It was like a perfect pass. Thing exploded, instant tears.

I don't necessarily blame her for getting a big head. I mean, she is coming offer an SEC title in soccer and when you have so many high-status people praising you, it's very hard to stay humble.
I do think that not having her come out for the 39 yard field goal is suspect, which is really just a mid-range kick.
There are short field goal kickers and long field goal kickers, but when you're clearly struggling to get the extra point over the cross bar, it makes me wonder how much of what was going on was merely a publicity stunt and how much was really because she was good enough to be on the field. A lot of people with some form of high school soccer background can make an extra point with enough practice.
