They could always do what the Big 12 did back when it had divisions.

St. Louis: 1996, 1998
San Antonio: 1997, 1999, 2007
Kansas City: 2000, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008
Dallas/Arlington: 2001, 2009, 2010
Houston: 2002, 2005

We're in year 8 now of the PAC 12 in its current form. Surely we can rotate between north and south locations:

2019: Seattle
2020: Phoenix
2021: San Francisco
2022: Denver
2022: Oakland
2023: Los Angeles
2024: Las Vegas

etc. etc.

The Pac12 had the correct solution which was going to the highest seeded team. That was working too well, so they made sure to fix that.

Orlando would be obvious but it might be blocked because they AAC hosta there. Tons of Florida cities that can hosts but maybe its just matter that ACC sucks.
Just played in Orlando two years ago. Clemson vs Va-Tech. Lower attendance than the Charlotte games.

To me a big factor if you don’t have a compact footprint is flight accessibility.

Charlotte is an easy direct flight on American just like Atlanta is for Delta.

PAC 12 solution is simple... put in LA or Vegas once stadium is done. Where to put ACC, Landover?

Problem with the Pac12 is, the only schools who have fan bases that come close to resembling legit college football fan bases are in the extreme northwest of their conference (Oregon, Washington, and on a smaller scale, Wazzou). They are so ridiculously far from most of the cities you can propose and Seattle doesn’t make sense for anyone else.

Charlotte is perfect for the ACC.

ACC champ game attendance was horrible when it was in Florida.

The only conferences that consistently have good crowds for the championship games are the big ten and SEC. They are the two conferences that top to bottom and regionally care the most about college football.

I like the SEC rotating between domed stadiums in Atlanta and New Orleans. The big ten can easily rotate between Indianapolis, Detroit and Minneapolis and sell out at each place.

Clemson might be the only team in either conference that would travel anywhere beyond their campus.

The Big Ten has regularly been giving tickets away to its CCG. The pre-expansion Big 12 easily was the second best attended CCG. It still is really, it's just slipped a bit with replacing Nebraska with West Virginia.

College football is a niche sport on the west coast. There's just too much to do and see beyond living and dying with college football.

I once got free tickets to a USC-Washington game in LA and was legit astounded at how dead and empty the stadium was
