Are the Pac 12 and ACC trying to kill any enthusiasm for their championships by choosing these cities as the hosts?

Great cities for investment symposiums, but football? Charlotte Is so meh? that they could not even name the NFL team after the city but had to pick an area, which doesn’t exist either. Basically if you want the Michigan New Jersey and New York people that couldn’t hack it in their home states then you go to Charlotte

Clemson might be the only team in either conference that would travel anywhere beyond their campus. Most of the PAC-12 schools wouldn't get a crowd even at their campus.

PAC 12 solution is simple... put in LA or Vegas once stadium is done. Where to put ACC, Landover?

ACC host should be jacksonville.
Pac 12 should be Vegas.
Actually the pack 12 will be Vegas soon enough

I can't speak to Charlotte, but Santa Clara is an awful place for a stadium. Just nothing to do around there. You can stay in San Jose (I love my hometown, but meh) or stay an hour away in San Francisco.

The Niners fricked up on the stadium.

If you think Charlotte is bad for the ACCCG then take a look at the attendance when they were in Jacksonville and Tampa.

Charlotte's an awesome location for a football game. NFL or college. The stadium is "Uptown" (what they call downtown) and surrounded by tons of entertainment options, restaurants, hotels and parking for tailgating. It's clean and safe.
I went to the ACCCG in Tampa and it sucked. Similar to a lot of stadiums they have no amenities around them.
In the beginning they assumed FSU-Miami would be playing in it every year. It makes more sense to be in Charlotte centrally located between most schools if they want higher attendance.

Don’t know much about Santa Clara, but Charlotte is booming and one of the hottest cities in America. Perfect place for a game.

Charlotte is perfect for the ACC. It's full potato that they moved their basketball tournament out of the state.

Tonight's game was pitiful.

They had the upper deck completely tarped off and the rest was half full. Stafium was at like 30%-40% capacity

When they did the attendance was awful

Charlotte is the most centrally located city for most the schools

Esp the football schools that will travel like Clemson and VT

I'm pretty sure the attendance in Charlotte has been 65-70k with Clemson, Va Tech, Miami and UNC playing in it the last few years.

35k is actually a decent number considering it was a obsolete title game at a neutral site about 800 miles away from either school on one weeks notice.

I love college football, but this is a glorified rematch for bragging rights.

Orlando would be obvious but it might be blocked because they AAC hosta there. Tons of Florida cities that can hosts but maybe its just matter that ACC sucks.

It’s probably gonna keep being this way. It doesn’t cost a whole lot to keep the lights on for a day in an outdoor stadium, so it still behooves a city to bring in ~20k people for a weekend.
