Was the 2008 team better on paper? I'm guessing not, so why don't we replicate what zinger did?

If I remember right they basically had 3 players playing decent or good. Poulter, Rose and Mcdowell

We had Perry/Holmes with the hometown advantage. Cink/Campbell played well together and Kim and Weekley played out of their minds.

Oh and Mahan actually showed up.

It is really disappointing that both afternoon sessions killed us. For the most part, they havent played that bad in the singles.

Don't leave out Sergio's tee shot on 8 where he miraculously got a flat lie after hitting the ball 50 yards right off the tee.

Hate Sergio, I think he is the only player on tour that I root against... He is such a little bitch.

Bubba Watson, should be better than this.

I will defend Mahan's chip by saying this, Rose was already in tight for birdie. It was all or nothing for Mahan. He had to get up and down.

Keegan has sprayed it all 3 times he's played, it's probably a good thing he sat yesterday

The key is the 4th session. It sets up the momentum for the singles. I think Brandel said we havent won a 4th session since 1981.

We tied the one in 2008 which kept us up 2.

You are somewhat correct, but it was such a low percentage. Why was a bump and run not an option? Does it slope that hard away?

Our team wasn't better on paper, but the Europeans were much worse. I would like for Nelson, Couples, or whoever is the 2016 Ryder Cup captain to have Azinger on as a Vice-Captain. Home course was huge too for Perry and Holmes.

I tried to give Watson the benefit of the doubt, but letting Keegan and Phil play Friday afternoon when neither of them could find a fairway and them sitting them all day Saturday just seems like a terrible decision.

Is the USGA responsible for naming the captain?

I remember the lower rated Euros in 2008 didnt play well.

Wilson, Hansen and Karlsson.

Casey and Stenson were bad too.

Alternate shot is barely golf. Is rather see them play a scramble than alternate shot.

I would think that a college coach would do great in this. Just as it seems to fit how they play and do NCAA tourneys.

I know the Captaincy is a reward, but maybe it's time to make it a priority.

My opinion is probably not valid on this subject though.

They really need to think long and hard about who the next captain is going to be.

Who would win if it were 24 vs 24 with a total of 56 points at stake?

I think merica in a land slide.

That's a fair point. He hasn't been good at all, but why would you send him out for alternate shot then on Friday afternoon? That's what I don't get more than anything else.
