I pray you're right.

I got a text from a friend in the PT field and said it’s a good sign he could roll over on his own. Apparently he wouldn’t have been able to roll over if it was something to his cervical spine.

So it’s not permanent? After the 4-6 weeks he should have feeling back?
Hope you’re right

what's a PA pardon my ignorance

I could be wrong obviously but the fact that he immediately grabbed his mid back tells me it’s a spinal injury below C6. Anything above C6 can kill you or will be life threatening
The no leg movement and grabbing his back gave it away. Classic manifestations of spinal shock.

frick frick frick frick frick!
I get a pit in my stomach anytime I see an injury that causes even temporary paralysis.
frick it. fricking frick it!

Physician assistant I’m guessing.
He would be well qualified to speak on it.

UPDATE: #50 Ryan Shazier has been taken to the hospital for further evaluation on his back.
He will not return to tonight’s game & there will be no further updates at this time.

So if he really couldn't move his legs and it's not spinal shock; it's paralysis? No other explanations would cause a temporary paralysis?

It will depend on where exactly the spinal injury is because if he hyperflexed his neck then he might have a possible fracture in his spinal cord.
Paralysis would be unknown at this point.
