One thing this injury has really showed me, people are POS on social media. I knew they were anyway hiding behind their phones and laptops but laughing and hoping Shazier never walks again is just beyond evil. We've lost our morality in this country and Twitter, Facebook etc. has shown me just how bad it's gotten. Sorry to get all preachy but Jesus Christ where's the compassion in this country for other human beings anymore? I guess trying to be edgy and funny trumps caring.

Tomlin knows more than he’s leading on in his press conference. Still no positive updates. Doesn’t have a good feel to it at all.

Tomlin not saying what he has been told.

Ryan Shazier "better than what it could have been," per team source. Looking better

its weird going to bars now cause you see more and more people playing on their phones.

not saying they are always on social media but what is the point of going out if you are going to frequently frick around on the phone?

That damn injury looked bad. Makes you wonder if playing football is really worth it.

You talking about the losing record the Steelers have against the Saints?

Update from a Steelers sports reporter from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Coming from the players so take it for what it's worth

@EdBouchette: Some good news coming out from Steelers. Two players called Shazier's injury a spinal chord concussion, comparable to Tommy Maddox injury in 2002; Maddox missed 1 game. Encouraging news, another said.

Another reporter said Shazier texted fellow LB Vince Williams, who was crying and visibly shaken on the sidelines, after the game.

Lots of conflicting reports. Some say players saying nothing. Some say Tomlin left hospital visibly shaken.

@AKinkhabwala: Steelers won't know more re Ryan Shazier until the swelling goes down. But Tommy Maddox had similar injury, made full recovery once swelling was gone. That is giving these players much optimism.

LINK

He has some limited movement in his lower half. No surgery required. Looks encouraging.
