“Antonio has done an extremely good job of tricking people,” Clark said on ESPN Radio. “He’s done a very good spin job of having us think, or making people think who don’t know him, that it’s all about the Pittsburgh Steelers, [Brown is] just a hard worker who’s here to win football games. No, Antonio Brown loves Antonio Brown. If you listen to people talk about him. If you listen to the media, a lot of time the fans, they have an adoration for him that is not necessarily a depiction of who he is. He’s like most receivers. He’s selfish.”

I remember him saying this and thinking it seemed kinda petty. Mr. Clark knew the real AB.

I think people took it seriously back then. Ryan Clark wasn't some random who made a career bitching about people, he was a Steeler lifer who had plenty of respect inside and outside the building. Hell, he almost died after attempting to play in Mile High.

I'll be honest, it disgusts me seeing him on the field for the Patriots. Not because I hate the Patriots. I don't. Its because Brown doesn't fricking deserve to catch passes from Tom Brady. frick him.

If you leaked emails and text messages from a majority of people, much less NFL players, I'd assume you'd think most are scumbags.

A lot of pro athletes are immature as shite and really weird guys in real life, people just don’t notice because they look cool and are good at throwing around one-liners. It’s hard to be a truly well-adjusted, normally functioning human being when you’ve spent 100 hours a week since age 5 doing nothing but running around a field with a bunch of dudes and not spending afternoons and weekends doing normal kid/adult stuff

Eh, I learned a long time ago not to look for good morals or good people in pro athletes, they're famous for one reason.

Is Antonio Brown one of the best receivers in the NFL? Yes? Then he deserves it

I am not basing my opinion on his "leaked emails and text messages," so not sure what your point is.

I don't necessarily disagree, but that doesn't mean that I have to respect him as a human. If we as a society let that kind of bullshite slide with any kind of contempt, then we are fricking up IMO. Plenty of talented individuals don't act like spoiled bitches.

And Ryan Clark doesn’t back down from anything he says. If you have a problem with him, he will tell you exactly where to find him.

Think Tom Brady is in a better position to make that determination.

Keep it faux though.

Here's what Clark said about AB back in April after he was traded to Oakland.

quote:

“If Derek Carr can find a way to get the ball to him, I believe he will be successful and get his stats,” Clark said. “But that’s all he cares about, and he is showing his true colors of not being a good teammate. He’s finally showing y’all he is just not a good human.”

I don’t think anyone is looking for him to be better than anyone else because he’s famous. The expectation is that he not be a crappy person period and that’s a standard everyone should be held to.

If this were my non-famous next door neighbor doing this I’d have the exact same opinion of him and would be looking forward to the day when he moves out.

Oh yeah, you're right, he spent like 2 years and change with other teams. My bad.

The Patriots are ruthless in making sure they win. From cheating to things like AB.
