See those players who made the team?

Respect them all, as they were strong enough to chase their dreams no matter the cost, sorry to hear about the willingness for so many of you to just give up.

Thats the new generation though, it really comes as no surprise.

I don't understand any of this as it pertains to what I said

Bunch of bitches in this thread.

To sit there and allow someone to physically assault you with punches, kicks, and throwing basketballs at you without looking doesn't make you "tough" or a "man." It makes you a weak coward.

I played sports in high school for a major Louisiana program. We were yelled at and we ran our asses of when we fricked up. We were never physically hit or kicked. Sure the coach would move us by grabbing a shoulder or something, but that's it.

To those who say "this happened in my high school" or the always ignorant "pussification of America," you were a victim of abuse and too scared to do anything about it.

One time his foot barely reached some player's butt. There is more "abuse" dished out when taking a charge.

You're missing the point IMO, it's not about him hurting them. It's about the fact that when he gets upset is reaction is to grab, push, slap, or throw something at them. That teaches them nothing and is an unhealthy way to deal with anger or frustration

When I play, I expect to take a charge. When I practice, I don't think I should have to look out for a basketball launched at my head because coach isn't liking how practice is going.

Imagine what Craig James would do if he saw the coach doing that to Junior.

Ive tried to give you the benefit of the doubt but you are really making that difficult. You have no substance to your argument as to why ,what would be considered a misdemeanor outside of the gym, its ok to do what he did. You really cant be that dim....can you?

Military =/= sports unless you are Kellen Winslow II.

He'd hire a PR firm to get the guy fired. Hell, he'd do that even if his son lied about what was going on.

There are a few videos out and in one of them he cocked back with a closed fist for a haymaker then when he swung at the last second he turned is hand hitting the player in the back with the side of a closed fist.

Maybe he thought better of punching the kid and gave him a fisted karate chop? Or hits like a girl?

All I can say to those thinking this is "no big deal" is how would you feel if that were your kid in the video?

I'd be livid.

I haven't seen that one, but it would be more damning against the coach.

Dude, if he got fired for the video I just saw, my entire hs coaching staff should be on death row. fricking wow! You can't do anything anymore without offending someone's sensibilities and or being brought up on charges. Thank God I'm in the last half of this life. I couldn't be a hs or college athlete in this era.

Watching the video again, hearing the audio and the eye witness accounts...you have to be an idiot to defend this poor excuse of a man. It has never been ok to throw things at players, hit them with anything, shove them (looks like double fisted punches on the video), kick them and verbally abuse them. Its not ok to barade someone with the "F" (homophobic slur) word in front of ten year olds. "Pussification of America": same old tired brainwashed southern conservative BS. I'm sure those who feel that way and Mike Rice share alot of the same views.

We probably do. You hippies should stop being such figs. If this happened in 1995 we would never hear about it.

ETA: you think Bobby Knight wasn't kicking bitches and calling them homos during his prime?

If you think what the coach did was ok, then I agree with you
