Maybe I should have had a liberal retard dressed like the tooth fairy as a coach. Would that make you happy?

As long as he kept his hands off his players in a malicious way and didnt hurl projectiles at their groin, face or body? Sure. Win games. Coach games. Teach players. Simple.

You're the huge pussy for letting him do that. Your dad must have been a huge fairy who didn't teach you to stand up for yourself.

This.

Being scared to stand up for yourself and not knowing what is wrong as a human with integrity doesn't make you tough. Just admit you were intimidated and now as an adult you realize your coach was a mental child.

Not to defend the clueless people in this thread but its not really about being a "pussy". Its about respecting people. Treating them with some dignity. You can do both and still be a hard nosed coach that gets the most out of his players.

Some people just have machismo shakes to often before they post.

They think it's ok for a coach to do that to their kids, it'll make em TOUGH, teach em in life

You can't say "fairy".

Its a total guess but Id' guess they may not have kids of their own.
Even in college I would NEVER let a person in that position put a hand on my child. EVER. Coach. Teacher. Principle.

Its just different.

'Kids' go through more in basic training.

How old are these 'kids' anyway? 19-24?

Thank you. Don't have a problem with grabbing the jersey, yelling, poking finger in chest, etc. But when things start getting thrown at my kids, nah. We gonna have a talk. Not about being tough, about respect. If fans expect my kid to carry himself/herself a certain way on the court, then I expect him/her to be coached a certain way.

Like I said, if those kids foul hard, push on the court, talk trash on the court, etc people call them thugs. But it's ok for a coach to act like a thug??? They better get out of here with that 2 way shite.

It's hard for some to understand. I mean we only say "college kids", I'm sending my KID to college, my KID is off to college.

I agree. The kids can't fight back because the coach either yanks playing time or boots you off the team. That's why I feel this is an abuse of power. For sure, this guy did this often and probably worse at other times.

That said, I don't like mob mentality/groupthink and I don't like that ESPN can drive public opinion. When people got all bent out of shape over Mike Montgomery grabbing and yelling at Crabbe a few months ago, I thought the faux outrage was stupid. But, Rice is crossing a line here that is not just about teaching kids toughness and discipline.

You mean guys training to fight in a fricking war? No shite

If y'all's coaches actually hurled balls at your knees or dicks, and physically shoved you out of drills than your coach didn't know how to handle players. You don't make players respect you by physically intimidating them, you do it by leading by example and being strict, but fair.
My high school coach was a tough guy and was extremely hard on us, but he would NEVER push us or throw things at us, it would be harder to respect him if he did.

See those players who made the team?

Respect them all, as they were strong enough to chase their dreams no matter the cost, sorry to hear about the willingness for so many of you to just give up.

Thats the new generation though, it really comes as no surprise.
