there are just not many ringer guys that i find interesting or funny. they come off as try-hard nerds, which to be fair, they most likely are. this typically makes them quite good at writing, but not that great at podcasting or other shite. there's no actual problem and they seem like good dudes, but very meh on most of them

Ringer content alone over the last year or so has made me do a total 180 on Russillo. I used to hate his "self-aware douche" schtick, but he's been great across from Simmons. His Town Rewatchables with Simmons and Ryan that just came out was the crowning achievement that convinced me he'll be better off at the Ringer than ESPN.
Simmons needed someone like Russillo who isn't afraid to "go there" sometimes with his jokes and can reign in Bill's homerism/poke fun at Bill like Sal does.

He doesn’t openly bash them on his pod, but if a guest brings them up, he moves on rather quickly. That’s what I’ve noticed.
