One of the best to ever do it.
Arguably one of the top 10 players of all time.

He’ll get a lot of post career awards in OKC. He saved the franchise after KD left when he coulda left too and it woulda killed them. Instead he stayed and drug them to playoffs with ragtag team and won MVP. And allowed Presti to get big value when he did leave, which started to rebuild to eventual title.

Terrible shooter for a guard but one of the most athletic and explosive to ever play.

Thats what I enjoyed. Didn’t matter how team record was he always left every bit of energy on the court.
OKC opens a new arena in fall 28, wonder if he gets a statue. His jersey will be retired but he deserves a statue for what he did ti help the franchise. He’s also part of investment group who has invested in a new entertainment and soccer complex being built for a team in OKC. Was always out and about around town and always personable and would make time for complete strangers who recognized him. His wife owned a shop here too.

Damn shame that Thunder team blew a 3-2 lead. KD and Westbrook were awful in game 6 and 7. That team was far more likeable and wouldve stopped a warriors dynasty from happening.

They blew a 3-1 lead. KD knew in Feb he was leaving for GS. He could not mentally process beating the team he was going to. He had a complete mental breakdown and thats why they lost. And he torched OKC on way out and didn’t allow Presti to get any value.
No top 5 player had ever left any team without allowing team to get some value back. Its why he is so despised, the way he left. And Russ stayed and salvaged the franchise.
Many local fans would have quit NBA had Russ left too, knowing a small market team is destined for failure and bottom rung. Russ helped give fans hope for a future and is why that post KD season was so special. He had a young raw Adams, a hurt Dipo, rookie Sabonis, Roberson ho could not make FTs or shots and drug them to playoffs. Won MVP.
After what KD did its hard to put into words what Russ meant to community for a pro team. And because they made playoffs it enticed Paul George to come in and that eventually led to Clippers/SGA trade.
It all traces back to KD leaving and Russ staying. Russ is celebrated locally.

Whoa, that’s a bold claim. Need more details on this. Never heard this FEB timeline.

You have such a weird schtick. It honestly makes no sense. Most people want others to think that they are funny or successful, not dumb as frick.
