He's an overrated ball hog. It's no coincidence that Harden, Durant, Oladipo and Sebonis all got better after leaving the Thunder.

Harden was 3rd option for the Thunder. He’s flourished once have his own team.

KD won an MVP alongside this ball hog. If he’s gotten better it might have something to do with being next a core group of guys who I dunno set an NBA record for wins in the regular season?

Oladipo had his best season ever with the Thunder. Which is impressive because he was thrust in to an unplanned role due KD’s departure. He would have absolutely wrecked shite with OKC has their 6th man which was the intended role.

Sabonis was a rookie. Give me a break.

By the way PG13 just shot the 2nd highest 3pt % of his career while taking a career high number of 3s. Still shot over 40% despite going on a horrible shooting streak post-ASB. I’m sure that’s probably somehow Russ’ fault too lol.

Punting the offensive rebound is a league wide trend. Uncontested rebounds are at an all time high. It has never been easier to get a defensive rebound. Only 15% of his d rebounds are contested. So lets not make him out to be this guy consistently soaring over other players for rebounds. The defense is getting back and Westbrook grabs the ball that his teammates would’ve grabbed
Statistically more efficient and quicker down the court when Russ grabs a rebound, fwiw.

Guess what year he played with weatbrook

PER

13.6
15.9
16.7
13.6
23.0

WS/48

.026
.065
.099
.085
.156

VORP
.8
1.3
2.3
.4
4.2

BPM
-.8
0
1.8
1.3
4.7

We see a guy who was improving every year by virtually all metrics. Then took a step back for a year. Then a big step forward continuing on his non Westbrook path. I’ve never seen a year by year improvement in all metrics like that. Followed by a drop off then an immediate bounce back after getting away from the the guy who sacrifices wins for stats.

He has not proven he can win even one mere playoff series without Durant. Fact.

if he does beat Utah he will get his shite pushed in. Fact.

If he wins, Boom will be 100% incorrect in his assertion that Russ can't wina playoff series without Durant.

Didn't take long to make a mockery out of a thread.

Sad day when someone who is such a fan of the game can't enjoy and appreciate top 5-10 player in the NBA.

I will happily be wrong. Bc it means CC will get to play him. Back to Twitter after all didn’t bob always say harden stat pads more than Russ.

well why isnt the other team blocking him out?

Most of his rebounds are defensive and most teams give up going for offensive rebounds so they can try to get back in transition early. It's not hard to see it that. It's still a great accomplishment though

Exactly. You can acknowledge that it is impressive and at the same time acknowledge that triple doubles are at an all time high and therefore they don’t mean as much as they would have in other years where they were harder to come by.

He had career highs until this year in FG% and 3pt FG% playing with Russ.

He was having a fantastic season but trailed off some when he hurt the wrist of his shooting hand.

Also: Oladipo has said watching Russ work and play is what lead to him having his current breakout year. Said he realized he thought it was doing what it takes to be elite but watched Russ work and realized he had to greatly pick up his off the court work.

But yeah, Russ sucks. Carry on troll.

So he shot better. That’s it. those numbers I posted include shooting. You are saying a player had his most hits so it was his best season. While I am posting the equivalent to OPS.

He’s gonna win MIP unanimously bc he got away from the stat padder. People said he sucked last year to boost up the narrative that Russ did more with less. And now it has backfired in the worst way possible. That’s why westbrook is getting no love this year. Oladipo didn’t suck and everyone sees it now. It was bc Westbrook don’t maximize his teammates.

Facts.

Boom's first post in this thread:

quote:

He has cheapened the triple double for all other players. Him chasing them has lead to others chasing them and now they simply don’t mean what they once meant. And they never meant much in the first place.

So much appreciation and acknowledgment of how impressive it was!!!

Correct..... he has done nothing but make a triple double look trivial..... yet if Harden has done it he would make it sound like the greatest acviement in NBA history....
