And not 1 of those players are playing for a chance to win the Championship.
I get it sucks but why risk an injury and your future paychecks for a game that in their world may not really matter. Most of these players are playing for 2 reasons to win a championship and get to the NFL. If one is off the table you should do the safest thing to get to the next level.

Why risk it for a championship? If they are risking their future paychecks, a college championship isn’t worth it either.

Everyone should just play long enough to build up enough draft status and then quit.

Interestingly enough, word is breaking now that Jaylen Waddle is skipping the playoffs and the next two years to focus on the 2021 Draft.

That’s their prerogative. People do it in real world jobs all the time.

Is Higdon thought of as a good pro prospect?

I've always thought of him as a 3rd-5th round guy. My thinking was always you sit if you're a first rounder with nothing to gain.

I thought that was a strange one myself

I feel like soon it's going to be unfair to judge teams and coaches based on bowl results when their best draft-eligible players won't play

I feel this way already minus the playoff games.

For the non playoff bowls I actually don’t care if guys not on next years team play or not.

In fact I think the only use for the non playoff bowls is extra practice and live game reps for next years team. Coaches should use it for that purpose only.

Ya let’s punish 99.99% of players wanting to play, because a dozen or sit out. This is the dumbest statement I’ve read today and that saying a lot since I read a lot of these threads

ETA- I actually like these lower bowls we’ve had on this week.

I’m not referring to you. I’m referring to fans who are butt hurt. I’m simply offering an explanation. Athletes treat sports as a business. Fans treat sports as personal. Sometimes the goals and objectives of business and personal align. Sometimes they don’t(like players not playing bowl games). But some people don’t understand this.

Then why not just skip the whole season?

They're easy to skip because they're essentially an exhibition for the spectacle.

This is true of all sporting events.

Not really. You should have said "for all cfb games."

clearly, you see the difference between that and the pros getting paid in all other sports.

Clearly, you don't know what the word "exhibition" means.

Stacy Dash, I look past "literallities" and focus on what I think they meant.

I like the people who simply cannot figure out why players wouldn’t want to continue to play for free for their school instead of insuring their payday comes while they are healthy

Can't blame these guys, though. There's a lot of money at stake.

I'd like to know how many players, 1st round locks, screwed up their career or draft($$$) by playing in the bowl game, since 2000?

Anything above 0.0 percent would be enough to make me think.

Were talking life changing money.

always has and always will, there is risk everywhere. Point is people/kids/advisors are over thinking the bowl game risk.

I get it if you are a Jaylon Smith, LF type that is projected top pick. But now you are seeing kids who are 3-6th rounders skip and it will only grow. It's ridiculous.
