Meh, it kinda is. Would be tough if they never had open houses, never sent brochure, never had advertisements, etc etc. Especially when starting out
I see your point. I was looking at "recruiting" from a different standpoint.

Also speaking of recruiting, I’m pretty sure my senior year we lost to Steve Ensminger son at West Monroe
Seems like some recruiting may have been happening by the non private school in that matchup too

I'm pretty sure Slinger was on staff at WM when his son played there. So I don't think there was much recruiting going on with him.
Which makes him pretty much the only player in the history of West Monroe that there wasn't much recruiting going on for.

He was OC at auburn when we played, which is why all the “rumors” were he was a recruit. He started coaching at auburn in 2002. We played him in the 05-06 year

Going to pop off when news finally hits sportcenter and it’s actually Catholic High point coupee

They also inscribe Catholic on the trophies. No confusion there either.

I see both sides of this argument. However, the LHSAA only focuses on athletics and upholding high school athletics. Not academics.

This is the exact kind of back and forth bitching I needed to get through this Friday.
Also, the LHSAA wont do anything. Never do.

Here is the thing as well. These “recruits” being taken out of North BR and given a proper education and chance to succeed is a huge net positive for everyone
"recruiting" like that is an issue here in St Louis as well. At least an issue for the shitty public schools who feel like their players are being taken away. But I will never not agree with the above. It's a net benefit to society to have more educated people with a better chance to succeed in general.

The LHSAA "hammering" someone is pretty funny. Not gonna happen especially to a standard-bearer in Louisiana high school football. It sounds like the CHS roster got a little too black for some people to handle so this rumor got started up. As for recruiting, I think every school private or public should be able to recruit people. Kids shouldn't have to go to some garbage school just because it's in their neighborhood.

Let’s use warrick dunn. If this board was around back then he would 100% have been considered a recruited player
So Dunn is given the opportunity to go to Catholic, which he credits as being the biggest influence on his life. He then goes on to lead a life where he helps 1000s of inner city minorities change their life
But frick that, for football equity Warrick should have gone to his shitty inner city school and been left to rot
Look, if you want to stop recruiting, make your school something that doesn’t need to be escaped
So you’re assuming Dunn would have never succeeded in the inner city? Believe it or not some of those kids do get out

So you’re assuming Dunn would have never succeeded in the inner city?
And 2, I think it’s very hard for kids to escape the environment if they aren’t given that opportunity elsewhere. Impossible? No, but very hard

What do you not like about current catholic high? I’m curious because I don’t live in BR anymore and am out of the loop.

2. Went to the state championship game 2 years ago. The way some of the kids and parents acted towards the coaching staff with no admin involvement was embarrassing
Maybe now I’m an old man yelling at the clouds, but it all makes me not happy

I think a lot of people were pissed at that parent

1. Would bother me as well...should be a Catholic and conservative school. More importantly, when I was there, teachers were not allowed to express personal political opinions. History classes were neutral or presented with both sides of the argument. Always respected the teachers for that.

Yeah, I agree with you after reading that. Sounds like things have changed a good bit.
