I get not wearing a jersey in day to day life, that makes sense to me, but why not on gameday??

I just don't see a difference btw wearing a jersey to "suit up" and guys who go out and buy those under-armor mesh polo shirts of their favorite time that are size to tight or any other team polo/shirt/jersey tshirt.

Whats the point of wearing any team shirt if not to show your support and get involved in the game?

I've got an LSU pistol jersey in purple. I don't wear it any more though.

I wear my soccer kits all the time and "pull it off"

this bothers me, along with use of "pitch" and ____"Side"

we're in america. It's a jersey, or a field, or a team.

or I can say kits, pitch, match, or side all I want and you can not be a bitch about it

oo were in america say everything the same, I watch soccer nonstop, 99% of the time it's a british commentator, I get used to it and it's how I learned the game, it's how I heard/hear the game, occasionally I let a football slip when I'm talking to people who aren't my friends (with my friends, it's football)

deal with it

IMO, the worst is favorite player's number, your name...wtf?

my friend got a pretty cool old school joe morgan red's jersey as he is a big reds fan. unfortunately, his last name is morgan, so he just looks like a douche to most people.

my jerseys

Saints- Joe Horn 87- bought for $20 on the clearance rack. why? he's a saints legend and I'm not about to chance buying a Brees or Bush jersey for full price now and watch them fall off. maybe if they keep their performance up...

Hornets- White "Hornets" Tyson Chandler- got it as a gift, but the "Hornets" on the front reminds me of an OKC jersey

Teal "New Orleans" Chris Paul- bought in April for $50 so I'd have a "New Orleans" jersey for the playoffs

New style w/o pinstripes "New Orleans" Chris Paul- bought for $25 at Target

VooDoo- #34 Dan Curran- bought in '07 for $70 so I'd have something to wear to all the games, and laugh all you want now, but it's served me well. Two trips to Orlando, an Arenabowl, and hopefully the league comes back with a New Orleans team in 2010...

Team USA soccer- bought in a Mexican flea market in Houston, it's too small for me so I haven't really worn it

Before the jersey thing got popular much less the Internet unless you lived in or close to a city/town that sold them you were out of luck. They had jerseys for sale when I was growing up but they were not even the cheaper replicas of today. The only thing out there were football jerseys. Fans really didn't wear jerseys to baseball and basketball games, I don't know if they were even sold to the poblic. Some football but it was still rare, the product/fad hadn't really hit yet.

I hate hate today is some kids buy a jersey of some kind that they like the colors and try to match a baseball cap and shoes to match..they gotta be stylin', but they couldn't hardly tell you the first thing about that team.

With that said I have...
Red Sox jerseys (white, gray, red), will get the new road jersey soon
Celtics jerseys: Larry Bird (#33 green) and Paul Pierce (#34 white)
Patriots jerseys: Tom Brady (#12 navy), Kevin Faulk (#33 white)

LSU #18 (white) football jersey
LSU baseball (gold) jersey

There is only one rule I have ever heard that makes sense: don't wear a jersey of someone younger than you. I assume this means with the name on it.

But really, who cares? Especially if its future hof'er like Favre or current hof'er like Elway or Montana. Count me in on the jersey wearing.
