do you think the legal burden for an assault charge is whether or not he was paralyzed or seriously hurt? That's called aggravated assault. People are charged with assault everyday without having caused any injuries.

Yet there was no flag on the field nor did the League rule it a late hit after the fact .Hand the ball of if you don't want your 4 int / 30 passer rating stud to get hit. Offenses want garbage stats & scores , but get cry when defenses actually come up & pop you.
Garrett deserves his 6 games, but there was no flag. No late hit.
