That case isn't even remotley similar to the scenario i described. Two compltley different objects, and you can't throw a beer bottle at someone and claim it was a "joke". You are clearly trolling

I see Him grabbing at it for like a second.

Aggressively trying to take his helmet off is what Garrett did.

And like I said, up to that point it’s just football penalties.

Once you start windmilling helmets into people’s heads

And you saw Garrett hit him late and refuse to get off before Rudolph tried to take off his helmet.

Law Professor Michael McCann

quote:

Although unlikely, Garrett’s strike on Rudolph could have a legal fallout beyond the NFL. The strike appeared to meet the elements of the crime of assault. Like in other states, assault in Ohio refers to knowingly causing or attempting to cause physical harm on another person. Use of a dangerous weapon can be added to the charge. While a football helmet isn’t a weapon per se, it takes the form of a weapon when used to inflict damage on another person’s skull.

Will Garrett be charged? Unlikely. Can he under the letter of the law? Absolutely.

You’ve been bodybagged multiple times ITT now. Time to go away.

What’s being lost in all of this is that Pouncey threw several punches and kicks to the head....

On a guy with a football helmet on.

I’ll never understand it. I’m sure it really had an effect on Garrett.

I always laugh when football players throw punches at guys wearing helmets. The only possible outcome is you breaking a finger or hand.

Nope. It's definitley not a deadly weapon and I'd highly doubt he'd even be found guilty of assault.

In the era of over protection of QBs there was no late hit flag on Garrett? Seems Garret thought Rudolph had the ball still. Those take downs happen on Rbs & QBs routinely when the defender think they still have the ball.

Doesn't excuse a helmet to the head though.

He made no comment about what he thought the outcome would be if it went to trial. Reach.

You’re entire argument is the helmet can’t even be considered a weapon. A law professor just said you’re full of shite. Backtracking now only makes you look worse.

/thread.

you are an idiot, garrett is trying to rip rudolphs head off and he defended himself by kicking at him blindly

let me twist your head arond and pull a helmet off your face and see if you have any idea at all where and what you are kicking at to get the MF off of you

boy they got some stupid excuse makers out today trying to blame the little white guy just for fighting back from being attacked late and without cause

explain to us again how rudolph started it when 3 full seconds after the ball was thrown garrett threw him to the ground and intentionally landed on top of him with his full body weight in an attempt to hurt him. explain how rudolph started it again?
