If I couldn't beat out Nate Freese for a job, I would go on a pill-induced rampage too.

Will we be seeing Maureen Maher narrate this story in a couple of years?

He left Auburn under some strange circumstances. I don't remember if it was drug related or not.

Thats actually not true at all but it makes the most sense in this situation, especially because he was last seen headed to his bed.

He should have hung in there for a few more weeks if he really was depressed - I'm sure he'd have been in contention for the Loins kicking job.

I can see him blasting "My Sherona" with the windows down, bending corners at 100+ mph all while being terribly blacked out on Ambien. RIP, Rob

Apparently he also threatened a car full of college kids too.

LINK

quote:

"His window was down, and we pulled up and I said, 'Hey man, just a heads up, something’s burning from your exhaust. Your exhaust smells horrible, just wanted to let you know,'" Fraley said he told Bironas. “He looked over at me and said, 'I’m going to kill everybody in your (expletive) vehicle.' It was so random, so bizarre I was like, 'What?' And he said the exact same thing again.”

I think he took something, and then just lost his goddamn mind.

I've heard of Ambien causing blackout driving and carrying on long conversations, but does it also cause rage? What a strange story.

Sounds like a convenient excuse. Don't matter now cause he's dead.

This is crazy. I knew Rob well enough. Based on his character if this is anything other than some weird Ambien induced trip I'll be shocked. He was a super dude based on my experiences with him. Never heard a bad thing said about him in my 5 years in Nashvie.

Homical sleepwalking is also a thing. A very very rare thing, but a thing nonetheless.

By all accounts of those that knew him, he was a good guy. So weird. Just glad he didn't have kids, even though it sucks for his wife.

I mean if your husband said he was going to bed and then he was gone for 2 hours without his phone you'd probably think something had gone awry

She didn't wait two hours. She waited about 30 minutes. That's what makes it somewhat odd.

If he was on ambien though I feel like the wife would have told the cops that.

Sorry, in the 911 call she says it has been 2 hours since she talked to him. There's no timestamp on that one like the other 2 which is weird. I still don't think its that far fetched for a wife to call 911 30 minutes after her husband uncharacteristically vanishes.

I knew him back before he walked on at Auburn, and he used to dabble in psychedelics from time to time. Not saying that's the case here, but it sounds like a psychotic reaction to something. He was always a stand-up guy though. RIP, Rob.
