Not anymore. Shalalalalalalalala isn't there anymore.

Miami went 8-4 this season with a lousy team and coaching staff. Richt will be a recruiting machine in South FL and he'll actually bring a staff that will help him develop all of that talent.

Come on, Richt had UGA winning 9-10 games per season over 13/14 years and that was in the SEC. Now he's facing Duke, Virginia, UNC, Va Tech, Ga Tech. Big difference.

5-10 years ago they were. Not now. They've made huge upgrades in that department.

Yep. No wonder Jimbo was hoping to leave.

I have a feeling the U is coming back now.

Home run hire IMO.

Richt runs a program the right way. The guy is more than a coach. He's the foundation for a new culture.

FWIW, 19-3 against ACC competition at Georgia...

Georgia Tech: 13-2
Clemson: 3-1
Florida State: 1-0
Louisville: 1-0
Virginia Tech: 1-0

Miami's last 2 coaches were 33-34 in ACC play.

I hope they rise again. Question, will the U merchandise (hats, jackets, shirts) be as ubiquitous as it was in the 90's if they become dominant again?

Good hire by the "U" I hope they turn it around. I think most of us have always enjoyed when the U is kicking arse.

Most impactful hire at a tier 1 school since Urban to tOSU. This may well be Saban-to-Alabama big

I wouldn't go that far.

However, those coaches saw even more success at their second big-name program. Won't be surprised if he does great things for the U.

Yes but how does his personality and demeanor mix with the attitude and "swag" that is so entrenched at Miami?
Only time will tell if they will resist in order to maintain their bad boy mentality.

If you had to bet right now (with smart at uga and richt at Miami) on who'd win a natty first, uga or Miami, who would you choose?

I didn't see this coming at all. Great hire.

Just sure up recruiting in Miami and use those in roads he already has in Georgia, Alabama, SC, and North Florida. They'll be competing for ACC titles in 2-3 years.

I really hope the FSU/Miami rivalry gets back to where it was. That was some awesome football.

But seriously, too early to tell. UGA's QB and offensive coordinator situations are still up in the air. Head coach unproven. Defense is solid.

Those factors are basically the opposite at Miami.

At first, I was thinking the Dolphins and was like WTF?

And now I'm like, shite Miami(FL) is stacked two years from now.
