Bill Simmons tweets on the situation... Probably could tweet stuff about this that other people working for ESPN couldn't get away with:

Bill Simmons ?@BillSimmons
It's amazing to me that people get so worked up about First Take. Who cares? Just don't watch it. There are like 800 TV channels.

I am not defending this segment - LINK - I thought it was awful and embarrassing to everyone involved. Seriously.

Bill Simmons ?@BillSimmons
But what bothers me about the reaction to that segment is people saying Richard Sherman "won." Nobody won. Everyone lost. Including ESPN.

I hate skip but Sherman comes off petty and lame in those clips
Skips got a good point for once, why is he so determined to talk trash? Whose he trying to convince. From his own mouth "let your play speak for itself"
ETA if you spend 5 minutes questioning skips creditials, then why do you give a frick what he says?
Just seems stupid to make a whole point saying Skip uses only opinions without facts to back it up, but then makes it a big deal that he has those opinions. Why do you care if you dont buy skips creditials?

Richard Deitsch ?@richarddeitsch There are scores of ESPN employees embarrassed by First Take. Few have power to go public. Simmons can. Interesting set of tweets tonight.

Sherman comes off as an uneducated, self absorbed a-hole in this.
How'd he get into Stanford?

It's been a long time since I've respected something Simmons wrote...

Sherman came off bad, but it still made me laugh. Love when Sherman points out being all-pro and among the best 22 players in the league and then Skip says he's among the 22 best in his profession.

BTW, I have not and will not watch it, but I am certain it was staged.

I can't stand Skip Bayless, but Richard Sherman comes off infinitely worse than Bayless in that "debate." All he did was say his numbers speak for themselves, and then went on to speak for himself cutting Skip off left and right and trying to sound more intelligent than he really is (it sounded like he was trying to use words he didn't know the meaning of). Then, he resorts to "I'm better at life than you" and "I was in the Pro Bowland you never will be" arguments, which only made him look stupid.
As much as I hate Bayless, he handled that situation well and came out looking like the winner IMO.

that reminded me of when John Daily when on Hardball and ripped them for being trolls
What?
Are you talking about Jon Stewart going on Crossfire?

Oddly enough though, the way he said it makes complete sense.

My first thought was John Daly tearing Chris Matthews a new a-hole

So how has First Take tried to spin it this morning?

That was awesome. Skip Bayless was a damn good sportswriter back in the day, but he decided it was a lot easier and more lucrative to troll on ESPN. It's a shame and it must suck.

Sherman getting burnt in playoffs
Too bad he couldn't use his Stanford education to have a good debate with Skip. Resorting to the "I'm better at life" shite normally means you're overmatched in a debate. Then again First Take is all for the shock factor anyway; they're loving that everyone is talking about this.
