Just curious what they are supposed to do when neither alleged victim reports the alleged incidents to anyone.

Let's be honest, too. Duke is probably a little reluctant to make a knee-jerk reaction to the a sexual assault allegation (especially an unreported one) after what happened the last time charges were levied.

Here comes everyone to the rescue of of Coach K because it's Duke basketball and there's no way they can do no wrong but Joe Pa and Penn State football deserved what they got, amirite?

They should have at least made some sort of paper trail to satisfy this Title IX investigation requirement. Their compliance office should have been all over this, if nothing else to avoid this sort of report.

Victim's while they should not have to prove their case to the police to make a complaint, can't be given such wide parameters to make allegations and still have him them carry any weight. The stakes are to high for all involved for allegations to be made through second and third hand sources.

Do we know that there isn't said paper trail? I need to wait and see more reporting on this story than from Deadspin before I rush to judgment.

Penn State- assistant coach witnesses Sandusky raping a boy with his own eyes; athletic department does essentially nothing

Duke- coaches hear about unverified and unreported claims of sexual assault and may not even know who student is.

Not the same thing.

Except report it to the AD and Campus security. The President and Campus Security are the ones that screwed the Penn St thing up.

Comparing this to Penn State is like comparing apples to a dump truck.

I wonder who this anonymous source is. He or she is not pulling any punches

quote:

“It should have been a long time ago. [Krzyzewski’s] never [dismissed a player] before,” the anonymous affiliate said. “I don’t think he knew where the line was. I think he really didn’t want to do it. It’s pretty incomprehensible.”

Considering there where independent witnesses verifying the rapes of children, yes. PSU got what they deserved.

So coaches are supposed to report rumors about what someone said at a retreat? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

The people who it allegedly happened to didn't even take it to the school, much less the police. They told a handful of people at a retreat. However, due to title IX, the university admin has to perform an investigation. Which they did in this case, where they didn't have all that much to go on in the first place. Seems like a much lighter version of the Mizzou case at worst, before the swimmer's suicide. I don't think it even goes that far to be honest.

But I know you're just trolling.
