Most places it’s part of their responsibility not to overserve.

And their father is dead so frick you.

But just a fun fact, Louisiana puts 100% of the reaponbility on the person consuming the alcohol unless they are underage.

How about some personal responsibility? You think money is going to bring him back? It’s a sad situation but entirely the responsibility of Berman’s drunk wife.

Oh and btw, SammyTiger, frick you.

You can hit over the legal BAC with 2 drinks. And the bartender is to assume everyone is driving home themselves? Seems pretty easy for the consumer to tell the bartender they are calling an Uber or a friend is picking them up no? Unless you just want to make it illegal to have more than 1 beer within a 60 minute period so that everyone is under the BAC limit at all times?

How about instead of laying the responsibility of arbitrarily gauging how drunk someone is or if they are driving home at the feet of the bar or bartender, why don’t we lay it comfortably at the feet of the a-hole who decided to order 10 jager bombs and then get behind the wheel and crash into an 87 year old man?

Criminal liability for over-serving is well settled but it's usually a misdo.

Civil liability is a different matter in most states.

So you don’t think someone should be allowed to get drunk in a bar now?

There’s a lot of ways to get to 3x the limit.

99 percent of them involve the intoxicated person making a choice to get that drunk.

None of them should involve putting the bar at fault for that persons decisions.

Three times the legal limit is a lot of drinks to be served. I’d be curious to see the receipt from the bar.

Sounds like something a lawyer would say.

"Public policy" is just code for inexcusable government encroachment on peoples lives.
