New this day was coming. There has been a lot of speculation here in Columbus that Snyder will look at Ryan Day from Ohio State. Day has coached in the NFL and has ties with Dwayne Haskins. If Washington fires their GM as well and they hire Louis Riddick, then Day to Washington will really gain steam as Riddick speaks highly of Ryan Day. Not saying it will happen, just that there will be noise about it for sure.

Well, that didn't take long.

Why leave a sweet gig at tOSU to take on a high stress job with the job turnover of a Latin American dictatorship?

Spurrier is the poster child for why that is a bad idea. The only reason Saban isn’t is because Alabama has an opening as he was trying to leave Miami.

I can understand it because you don't have to recruit. And the way the collective bargaining agreement is structured, you have a decent amount of time off.

That said, I doubt he leaves for the NFL for a while. But he has previous NFL coaching experience, so this will come up often.

The other half of the argument is that one could certainly do far better than the Skins if taking an NFL job.

The owner and GM are a notorious shite show and the roster has problems for a variety of reasons.

The only two jobs that immediately come to mind as being worse are the Jets and Dolphins.

I don’t like Jerryh much but you know Garrett will get fired sooner or later and that team has a ton of talent despite an idiot owner.

I am a Redskins fan but would take either job over working for Dan Snyder. It's career suicide.

Didn't say he was going to take it, i just said that it will come up for obvious reasons. Day has been an NFL coach before, and he has the ties with Dwayne Haskins. The Redskins drafted him in the 1st round, it makes sense to look at the guy who developed him into a 50 TD machine at Ohio State. Day will absolutely be a candidate. If nothing else, Day is going to use this to get himself a hell of a raise...especially if he beats Michigan, wins the B1G and makes the CFP. Harbaugh makes what...9 million? Day can use speculation to get a 10 mill contract with Ohio St.

Someone tweeted out a few hours ago that they witnessed jay get fired via a phone call

Gruden is probably relieved more than anything. He’s openly hated the organization for like 3 years now

Don’t understand the timing, he wasn’t going to beat the pats so he should’ve been shipped off last week.

They straight up locked him out of the draft room this year. Felt like a Constanza toy company situation

I think they kept him legit out of spite. Someone even mentioned they could use those leaked videos to try to get out of paying him the rest of his contract

I wonder which retread, former NFL coach's son, or NFL coach's brother will replace him.

They’d rather put him in the fire to burn than start off an interim coach against the pats

Lock the coach out of the draft room while spending your first on a QB that a lot of teams had reservations about?

I can believe that with the Skins.

Gruden wanted no part of Haskins

I’m not trying to defend Gruden too much because he’s awful too

He'd probably forfeit his buyout if he immediately takes another job.

Ahh, I just read Bill Callahan takes over.
(Begin funeral dirge)
If he's been on the staff or in mgmt or in the building, there's the problem.
Never seen such an assclown be allowed to be a part of any type of business for so long, stay employed, and be such a chronic LOSER!
