That 05 championship win against Notre Dame was impressive, ND had only allowed 6 points scored the whole playoff
Their only two scores were on short fields after turnovers but no I’m not bitter one bit lol

I know running back Shelton Sampson and wide receiver Josh Mosby signed with Northwestern St when I started high school. We had running back Jay Lucas who signed with Texas A&M but transferred to Southeastern, running back a Robert Johnson signed with northwestern, cornerback Johnell Neal signed with Central Florida, cornerback Tony Johnson signed with southeastern, linebacker Mendal Esnault (Nick Brosette older brother) signed with Coffeyville community college in Kansas may he Rest In Peace, punter Larry Anderson signed with Grambling, wide receiver AJ Harris signed with New Mexico State, Athlete Jorrick Calvin who left right before his senior year went to Scotlandville signed with Troy who almost beat LSU in 2008. We also had defensive end Tarrence Lathan that was going to Grambling but dropped out his senior year because he had a baby and went straight to working to provide for his baby. I know the 06 class had a lot of talent but I already had graduated so I don’t remember where they signed at.

Jonathan Hollins signed with Tennessee but didn’t make it bc of grades. Toren Dixon signed with Rice. The QB on the 05 team ended up playing for the Buffalo Bills.

Why were they so average in 3A in the mid to late 90’s? Was Coach Guilbeau a below average coach?

Both Parkview and Redemptrist were horrible in 88,89,90,91.

05 class! 02, 03, 04, and 06 class won state their senior year except for our class. I think we were the only class that didn’t have color in our yearbook because we didn’t sale enough ads lol.

And they had both at the same time… still no championship

I compare that to Saban’s first year at LSU. That was the foundation that put everything into motion.

Freak injury in the end zone kept the 00 team from winning it all

What I hope the story focuses on is how quick Sid Edwards turned That program around when he got there.
If I remember correctly, Before Sid, they were terrible, and when he arrived, it was like a switch was flipped.
Pretty amazing.

Mom1: why do you send your kids to Redemptorist high school?
Mom2: we just really value that Catholic education
News: Central now has their own independent school district, separate from Baton Rouge.
Mom2: Nice we can go to schools Central now.
Mom1: wait but I thought you wanted a Catholic education???

They wouldn't have beat Westlake if wasn't for the inadvertent whistle on the bounce pass.
But sid needs to be focus if anything to do with redemptorist.
