These managers are real geniuses getting burned game after game with their closer decisions.

I cannot believe Jansen is coming in instead of Baez.

I just assumed it was Baez coming in, and never looked until I saw Jansen turning and looking up

Two nights in a row
Same dumb move bring in KJ to get 6 outs
Same dumb outcome

Why doesn’t Baez pitch the 8th?

Kenley Janses is a great regular season pitcher, LESS than clutch in the post season. This is all Dave Roberts' fault really

So this is the idea of using the best relief pitcher for the best part of the order in high leverage situations whether or not it is the 9th. Is a concept that is very much a child of the analytics age.

This thread reacting the way it is, this is why i avoid this place

Going to kenley for the 2-3-4 batters makes sense. Not going to baez who just pitched two innings last night for like the first time in god knows how long. But of course this thread reacts the other way

Baseball is now totally void of common sense. Just look at the analytics and call it a day. What a joke

I just think he is incapable of handling a pitching staff

He has a way he sees things in his head that are much like the way most people see through their a-hole.

I’m upset that he is risking my opportunity to see more baseball this year.

But, I still like the Dodgers chances to win this game.

They must've forgotten to pack JD's iPad when they loaded up the truck for Cali

I love analytics as much as anyone, my job revolves around it

But in my profession, much like sports, the human element is still alive and well. Analystics should be used as a tool to help, not as a crutch to keep from having to make any decision

if you've been paying attention to how the series has gone so far and how Kenley Jansen has been in the post season, you would agree with us.

You can’t keep defending it.

Game 2 of the World Series last year, last night, and now again tonight.

Jansen just doesn’t have the electric stuff needed to mow down the heart of a lineup. He serves up meatballs.

How about Baez in the 8th and KJ in the 9th?

That is pretty novel idea right?

How many game tying HRs does KJ need to give up before the stats and analytics are wrong and they try something else?
