Didn't know, would think you would want him since he can start or pitch in relief. I know he had some injury issues at the end of the year and was tipping his pitches. Maybe that is why

Damn Manny Machado is such a talented player but the dude just bothers me. I mean not running out that bat because he thought he hit a home run. As the announcers said, it is the World Series and down 2-0 in a 1 run game.

I really hope the Yankees do not sign him and leave Andujar at 3B

I don't think you can call it trouble? Would've been nice to win, but which team would you rather be, LA or BOS right now? The team with the better lineup and a 2-1 lead, or the other team?

They are up 2-1, guaranteed to go get back to Fenway with a rest day Monday, and they got 10.2 innings out of two of the nine pitchers they used. Cora can choose between E Rod (faced one batter last night), Pomeranz (can start him and give him as short of a leash as he wants) and Sale (three-day's rest).

It was a game that would've been nice to win, but Sox pen is no more taxed than Dodger pen, because Eovaldi made sure of that.

This team's longest losing streak this year was three games. They will find a way to win.

So is Benitendi going to ride the pine for all three games in LA? He scored four runs in the first two games on 4 for 8 hitting...

rich hill is decently better than any real option boston has for tomorrow

A quick glance at the stat lines and peripherals for this season would suggest otherwise, but I get why people that haven't watched Boston much over the last couple of years might think this. This matchup is at worst a push

I think Cora has to really consider playing Betts at 2nd.

Lifelong Red Sox fan, but tip of the cap to the Dodgers and Muncy. 18th inning walk off...pretty cool.

I stayed up, commented in this thread a few times, put my phone on charge, then my son walked in the bedroom bot 18, and nudged me b/c I had dozed off.

Just in time to see the game winner.

And yeah, Boston is still heavy favorite, for a lot of reasons, but mostly due to Dave Roberts. That dude must quadruple guess himself in his sleep. LOL

Yes, an owner who pays Machado has to ask himself, am I trying to win a WS Championship?

Because if the answer is yes, how do you sign a guy like that?

He turns Charlie Hustle into Chuck Apathetic

So I take it that you wouldn’t take Manny Ramirez on your team when he was in his prime? Because he played the exact same way.

Nope, never dirty at all. Now he would damn sure not run out.a ground ball from time to time, but he was not a riot starter out there.

Best Manny play ever: 2004 season:
The Manny Cut off play

commentary is priceless.

And there are differing levels of “I don’t give a shite”

Marwin Gonzalez is an example on the Astros

But electing to take off certain plays given a situation is not what Machado does

And if ur directing that question to me b/c u think I’m a Sox fan, I am not

Word out of local radio is he makes zero decisions. He gets paid like $700k/year while Friedman is making $7m. Everything they do comes from upstairs.

I think someone commented you can put a jersey on a MacBook Pro and it would be the functional equivalent of Dave Roberts.

and those people are fricking idiotic. you could replace dave roberts right now with don mattingly and the dodgers never make it to a single NLCS, let alone three in a row and winning two of them

hell, we probably lose the division and miss the playoffs in both 2016 and 2018
