Crazy, if they didn’t put on the hit and run, Contreras grounds into inning-ending double play and TB escapes unscathed. Instead it’s 4-2 and Rasmussen pushing 30 pitches. Game of inches

I'd argue Contreras probably doesn't ground into a DP if the hit & run wasn't on.
He clearly shortened his swing and was just trying to get a backside single knowing there would be a gap between 1B & 2B.
