Roquan Smith was tearing up just last week after he found out in the middle of his interview the Bears traded away Robert Quinn.

As a Bears fan, this sucks. I loved Ro. He’s a fricking beast. But it’s the right move to make. 20M to a non premium position on a team that’s still a few years away from seriously contending. Bears need an in-flux of talent across the entire year.
They are building everything around Fields. He’s balled out the last month and Leadership believes in him.

The big fail IMO was not getting an extension done. But once that was never going to happen and Smith will become a FA after this season, the only play then is to trade him before the deadline and get assets.

I wouldn't really argue on that, it's close. My point was more so that when roquan left there was no debate he was far and away the best I'd seen, whereas now there's at least a contender in the conversation
