Some formidable minds here LINK
quote:

“What are we willing to give up?” VanVleet said Tuesday, suggesting his teammates talked about the possibility of a boycott. “Do we actually give a (expletive) about what’s going on? Or is it just cool to wear BLM on the backdrop or wear a T-shirt? What does that really mean? Is it really doing anything? I don’t have the answers for you today.”

quote:

Boston’s Jaylen Brown also opened his news conference with extended comments about the Jacob Blake shooting.

Blake, a 29-year-old Black man who lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was shot multiple times in the back by police officers Sunday while he was leaning into an SUV. Police were responding to a domestic dispute call. Blake is in stable condition, paralyzed from the waist down, according to his father and Ben Crump, the family's attorney. Blake was unarmed. Three of his six children were in the car when the shots were fired.

“There is an emphasis in this country on the framing of these incidents such as Jacob Blake – ‘Well, he was a convicted felon. Well, he had a history of police brutality. Well, he possibly had a weapon.' This framework is not unfamiliar to people of color and African-Americans. Nor does it constitute death or being shot seven times," Brown said.

So a cop in Wisconsin shoots a black guy so the logical thing to do would be to boycott an organization that has nothing to with the police department in Wisconsin. I’m sure he expects the nba players boycotting to still be paid though because that’s how boycotts work and all. Boycotting isn’t actually doing anything either no more than wearing a t-shirt. It still doesn’t address the alleged problem with a solution. Just another form of pointless virtue signaling. Also makes it even funnier (to me at least) this team is in Canada.

Is boycotting really going to do anything? Or is it just a cool thing to do?

Please don’t. Just play it out. That’s what is the best thing to do.

If they want to possibly kill the NBA then they’ll go through with it.

Yeah, I’m sure the situation was that watered down. Hack journalism at its finest

Well, he was a convicted felon.
- irrelevant

Well, he had a history of police brutality.
- More relevant than being a felon but not really relevant

Well, he possibly had a weapon.
- most relevant by far. Really
Nothing else matters.

They should threaten to not play until people quit putting themselves into situations where police have to shoot.
Comply and let LEO investigate the situation. It's as simple as that. Was there a weapon in the vehicle? He opened the door and reached. LEO had already drawn down on him once he fought them.

B, I don’t know if the officer was right to shoot, but the suspect has to have some accountability.

I get what you are saying, but I’d have no problem if everyone that commits a heinous/violent (not drug related) crime was just taken out if the evidence is there.

I have no clue on this guy’s background so I can’t say much, but if he beat up a woman or molested a kid or something crazy like that I really don’t care if anyone get out six feet deep.

I’m assuming I’m likely in the minority.
