This board had Jefferson as the 5th best WR coming out last year

News flash, we all suck at life and have no clue what we are talking about

Waddle doesn’t belong on that list. He’s a specialist in the league

Olave seems underrated. From what little I’ve seen he’s a silky smooth route runner and faster than CD Lamb.

NFL scouts are comparing him to Tyreek Hill. I'm pretty sure someone would take that in the first round.

He's one of those guys who could very well end up ahead of these others during his NFL career, but you can't rank him ahead of them as a prospect because he doesn't quite have the wow factor. He's very fun to watch, and whoever gets him will not be disappointed.

Smith and Chase are no-brainers.

Is a silly comparison. I’ve not seen the level of joy stick moves and start and stop speed from Waddle. He’s explosive, but Reek is one of a kind until proven otherwise at the NFL level.

He almost single handedly won the iron bowl last year and scored in a multitude of ways. Returned a kickoff for a touchdown. Caught an intermediate route and erased angles for a 50+ yard touchdown (the same way he did to spark the comeback against Georgia in the SECCG) high pointed a contested skinny post in the end zone for a touchdown, and toe tapped a contested corner route for a touchdown. He’ll run a sub 4.3 and have a 38” vertical but gets to top speed in 3 steps and can change direction on a dime. His specialty is being a really dangerous football player with top 1% speed.

What is it about his ability that you believe isn’t impressive or doesn’t translate to the league? I’m dying to hear this

Haven’t seen the start and stop speed? Go watch the touchdown before half of the iron bowl or the touchdown against Georgia in the SECCG. He basically sits down in a zone window and catches the ball standing still against auburn and then smokes everyone to the pylon at the opposite corner of the field

Hill is the fastest player I've ever seen in pads. Waddle is ridiculously fast and explosive in his own right though, and he has great sudden change skills. That punt return against LSU last year showcased all of his skill.

Some of that is he wasn't an uber recruit, but I generally agree. I think he is in the NFL for a long time and very productive, but I'm not sure he's an all NFL type player ever. And there's nothing wrong with being a #2 WR for a decade

My bias has Chase #1 but in reality it's Chase/Smith 1a/1b

Correct, no one with a straight face can say that one is superior to the other in any aspect of the game. They both make contested catches, run great routes, and don’t drop the ball..I know Smitty doesn’t at least and didn’t see chase drop many. Chase will be bigger at the combine but I expect Smitty will be faster. It will come down to if the team needing a WR values that little extra speed with the risk of the slim frame. It’s said pound for pound he might be one of the strongest guys on the team though and it shows in his blocking.

Chase looks like a more explosive Jarvis Landry to me and Smitty a more explosive Calvin Ridley

Reek is doing it against starting NFL players and some of, if not all, of the top DBs in the league if they play man against him.

Until I see Waddle do this at the NFL level, hold the smoke on the Reek comparison.

It isn’t a slight at Waddle. He’s dynamic as hell. It’s just that Hill is in his own stratosphere right now.

No Seth Williams?

He’s really good too. Does having Bo Nix as his QB affect his stats? I haven’t watched auburn enough to know if Nix has improved as a passer.

Okay, then who would you compare him to?

Nobody is saying he’ll be as good as Tyreek, but that is the glaring comparison. Foot speed is foot speed. It’s not going to substantially change because you join another team or enter the league. He’ll be one of the fastest players in the NFL

They tried this with Hardman. Didn’t work

Williams will drop because of route tree questions. Auburn has the most simple passing concepts in the league. I think he can play for a while in the league but see more Marvin Jones ceiling with him compared to the guys listed that look to have a higher ceiling
