Ron Dayne will always be my number 1! Loved the way he malled those white boys up north.

This list is very weak compared to the 80’s.

George shouldn't have won period. Troy Davis of Iowa St was shafted. Not one but back to back 2000 yard rushing seasons. That's amazing considering the number of 2K years overall, and he played for ISU no less.

Poor Faulk- Should have won in 92 and probably 93.
Wiki says Corso left Faulk off his ballot

In terms of career, and heisman winning season vs. the field, Danny Wuerffel is up near the top for the 90s.

Zero nfl success makes him look bad in retrospect, but he had one of the greatest college careers for a quarterback.

And if Peyton Manning hadn’t been robbed of the Heisman, where would he rank on that list?

Robbed? His biggest stage that year and every year was the Florida game. Guess what, he went 0-3 versus Florida as a starting QB and had a less than stellar performance in that 97 game. Charles Woodson’s largest stage was the Ohio State game where he thrived and arguably singlehandedly won that game for Michigan.

Peyton didn't get robbed. They would've loved to hand it to him.
The issue with Woodson is that the OSU game was really his only stage. His season was great but he got lucky it was a bad year for competitors. Based purely on the season the heisman was won, Howard's year was better than Woodsons along with most others on the list. Ty Mathieu in 11 had a better season than Woodsons Heisman year. Lot of factors played into Woodson winning that Heisman. Not saying he didn't deserve it but there's a reason it hasn't happened again when better candidates have been there since.

Torretta and Ward won for being the qb on the best team.

Ricky Williams was an absolute monster. Detmer had a season for the ages when passing wasn’t the norm. Woodson and Howard are similar in their all-purpose abilities. Here’s my take:

Williams
Dayne
Howard
Woodson
Salaam
Wuerffel
Howard
Detmer
Ward
George
Torretta
