To the people that actually send hate mail in situations like this, do you not realize you blow it up even more? If you feel that those "victims" were thugs and justly shot, then let it be. By sending "hate mail calling them thugs" you push the racial oppression story line.
Police brutality does exist but does not target one race over the other, it's been statistically proven. But you just throw fuel on this fire by doing this.

I don’t think anyone ever confused randy with a Mensa member...

So the question I have is, how many times do you have to be arrested to be considered a thug?
Most of these gamgbangers and hood rats that are the ones usually breaking the law literally call themselves thug. Rappers use thug in their brand.
Why is it all of the sudden a bad name when black folks are the ones that glorify and are proud of it ?

Because it’s a lot like the word ‘ninja’
Only black folk can use it

There’s a big difference between a mistake and attacking a cop trying to get their gun. You can honor legitimate injustices while calling out the clowns or “thugs”.
Not everything has to be a damn political statement. Sometimes these things can be race driven. Others it’s just a moron with a death wish. Let’s save the outrage for things that really matter.

If Randy really wants to bring attention to a true problem in the community, I found find him a necktie that he can wear to put the names of the victims from the killings in just Chicago so far this year

That's...that's the point. Not all of them are criminals, only some of them broke the law. Some were completely innocent.

If he is really concerned about young black deaths, maybe he should just pick one major city, Chicago, New Orleans, Washington DC etc. and list the names of the victims to senseless violence.
Moss's names were a bad choice, but this is a poor rebuttal too. It insinuates we have to address other violence before we can address LEO violence, which is asinine. Also, those murderers in Chicago and New Orleans will go to jail if/when they're caught. It is incredibly rare to see an LEO get charged, much less convicted, of a crime in these cases. Most of them are justified, not arguing otherwise, but there are plenty of cases where it's not justified and they still walk away without so much as a charge.
Once again, this is why I despise BLM so much. They're so worried about Michael Brown and Alton Sterling that they blind otherwise rational people to real injustices.

Part of our evolution is aided by a bias derived by real data. Statistics right or wrong give us data to be used to weigh outcomes. If a LEO approaches a suspect who checks multiple boxes ( race, gender, area) then there is a greater chance the approach is altered to make sure they get home.
Not arguing right or wrong for the LEOs approach, but if the stats were changed the approach would change.

Blame this on outside pressure from media and pushes by DAs to make a name for themselves. If the charges were based on eveidence and not public pressure resulting in a higher bar for evidence being set some of these "walk-aways" would have served some type of sentence.
Neither side is 100% right or 100% wrong, but both sides can keep saying the concrete will never set if it's too thick while one is dumping cement and the other is dumping water.

It insinuates why are we focusing so much time and effort plugging up a pea sized hole when there is a hole the size of the grand canyon on the other side.....
Sure he can focus his efforts on both, but it seems many are only focused on plugging up the pea hole
Sorry for the pun

Moss wants to focus on this. He chose poor people for his example, but focusing on this is fine. Also, the real injustices are actually easier to fix IMO.
Fixing urban poverty is a much tougher row to hoe.

I think maybe your cynicism towards the phrase in quotations is that you are trying to make the two comparable. They're not, but not in the way your tone or Moss' comes across. People who commit mass shootings are far below anyone who's embrace of "culture" led to a fatal encounter.
On one hand you have someone who was taught to take what they want because nothing is given, and possibly the wrong influence or the wrong interpretation embraced leads to getting before getting got. Life takes a different meaning when calloused by the belief that if you don't take someone will take. While this culture or premise may be foreign and hard to understand for some it's a very real worldview by many not just in our country but where we live. This doesn't absolve them of anything, nor does it necessarily condemn them, but guys like Michael Brown and Alton Sterling were just living their life, not giving them a free pass, but they did not go seeking trouble they just tried to get before getting got and they lost.
People who commit school and mass shootings are sub-human. There is no culture, no hardship that can cause the mental depravity where taking as many lives as possible is justifiable.
Trying to equate the two won't work, trying to do so is a fool's effort.

Excuses and explanations are not the same things.
