frick that, you're a first year GM you can't let someone like that walk all over you. Stand your ground, he skipped a walk through for no reason and told no one and got fined. Cut him after he forfeits the guaranteed money if it comes to that.

How long is it going to be until AB brings up some sort of racism issue??
That’s his next play, right?

Just release him now.
Nope. Then someone else might give him money.
Suspend him, void his guarantees which amounts to his base salaries for 2019 and 2020, and his workout bonuses that haven't been paid yet.
Then you can keep him (hopefully on the straight and narrow) or you can release him when he gets back and is a pain but with keeping your cap space.
Remember, Antonio Brown has only gotten some workout bonus money and a $1,000,000 signing bonus. If this suspension voids his guarantees (i.e. his base salaries), he'll have to show up and be responsible to get his 14+ million salary for the year.

Antonio Brown posted the fine letter on social media that Raiders’ GM Mike Mayock sent him. It led to an exchange, which is now leading to further discipline. This is not going away anytime soon.
I can't remember which episode of Hard Knocks it was where Mayock was speaking with media but I could tell he wasn't the biggest AB fan. Thought it was pretty interesting they didn't show Mayock in any episodes after that.

In fact I'm guessing he'll post something stupid shortly.
no doubt

Right but Mayock should have taken the high road but now he has turned it into a full fledged dumpster fire.
How is Mayock supposed to take the high road with a guy like AB? That's akin to a parent taking the high road with their bratty children by giving them whatever they want when they scream and shout.

The NFL is full of divas. A hardo GM is not what you want to be. Nothing else matters other than on field production. Just get them on the field producing at a high level

During the exchange with Mayock, Brown reportedly had to be "held back by a couple of teammates," according to The Athletic's Vic Tafur.

This thread is divided between those who do and do not have AB in fantasy football

He may not play a game for the Raiders at this point

I mean it’s not like he’s any less talented at playing receiver because of this. He’s just an idiot that’s also really good.

It's pretty clear Gruden and Mayock are playing good cop/bad cop when it comes to AB.

The reality here is that the offseason drama is likely enough for the #Raiders to void the $29M of salary guarantee. They can also go after the $1M signing bonus based on missed practices, etc… meaning Antonio Brown could then be released with $0 dead cap.

He is not going to lose guaranteed money bc of “foot/helmet” drama that impacted literally nothing

Dude needs a wake up call, one game might not be enough

That is normal contract language.

i guess i didnt get too worked up over the whole foot thing or the helmet thing. especially while watching hard knocks when gruden and mayock were talking to one another saying they 100% knew the full story the whole time and didnt get the way the media was reporting it
Did anyone around here get worked up over the foot and helmet thing? He came off as a MORON with both situations but even then people just had fun with it.
What was the 100% full story that Gruden knew that was being bastardized by us and the media?
