They are in a different league. The ACC. And they are 5-6 in bowls. SEC is 8-2.

THIS is why I'll be pulling for the Gumps. Would like to see Saban out of college football.

that's about the 3rd time someone said something like that in this thread. Bama winning or losing isn't going to have anything to do with Saben staying or going. If the NFL wants him, they already know what he is whether he wins this game or not. As far as retirement? not happening. Going to another school? not happening and this game would have no bearing even if he was.

You never pull for a divisional rival who recruits the same athletes as you to be successful. On the flip side, if I had a guarantee Sabam would retire if they win, then absolutely I'd pull for Bama

I don't see why Clemson wouldn't be viewed as a top 5 program if they win this game with a win tonight. They have a lot of momentum going, a lot of good press and positive hype for their coach and program. Recruiting is getting strong for them. On the cusp of a top 5 program right now and has strong momentum towards it. Kind of like we use to be viewed from about 2002 to about 2012. A win for them could propel their program into that elite category the same way our NC did for LSU in 2003. Everything is lining up for them for a good run of years (with a win tonight)

All in for Clemson on this one. I will pull for some other SEC teams. But not Alabama -- never Alabama.

I think Saban is the best coach in college football history, so I like seeing him win national titles if we aren't. I want him to get the record of 7 titles. Would I prefer he was not at Bama? Absolutely, but Bama doesn't ruin my life like it seems to do for everyone else here.

One, I'll pull just as hard for bama as their fans would if the roles were reversed: not happening; two & most importantly, bama winning the NC hurts LSU in recruiting; three: screw pulling for the SEC: when is the last time the SEC did anything for LSU?

Always been a big fan of Calvin and Hobbes so I'm pulling for the team Hobbes mascots for, so yeah.

ETA: Clemson's fan base will feel LSU's pain when Swinney leaves them to replace Saban at his Alma Mater.

I live among the orange and purple, and I've been seeing a lot more of it lately. Wonder why?

Anyway, how is this even a question? Clemson is the lesser of two evils tonight. Geaux other Tigers.

frick everyone in the West. Always. Every bowl, every year. Basketball. Baseball. Bowling. Whatever. Doesn't matter. I will make occasional exceptions for State and maybe Auburn, but that's it. The only season I will ever cheer for in regards to Ole Piss or Bama is 0-12, but I'll be happy with 1-11 for the head to head winner.

I'm ambivalent about the East teams. I usually cheer for them in bowls and out of conference. I hated Urban Meyer, but I cheered for their football title teams.

I'm 41, so I remember a time when the SEC wasn't dominant. Still don't care. I'm an LSU fan. The rest can all hang.

Pulling for Bama. Don't like either. SEC baby. In addition, it makes us not as pathetic if Bama blows everyone else away too.

Normally I would cheer for any opponent vs Bama because of the obvious reasons stated beforehand.

However, on this one I have a hard time rooting for Clempsun as I grew up primarily in SC lowcountry and have a lot of friends that root for them (they didn't attend of course). I viewed the last LSU-Clempsun game amongst them down in Myrtle Beach and been abused since then.

Also, it would be interesting to see the Clempsun fan melt after going 14 and 0 and then losing to the Gumps. They'll feel some of the pain we've felt over the past 5 years.

I'm probably older than you. I am usually SEC loyal but I have an irrational dislike of the Gumps. It's been there for some time but was cemented in place as long as the midget remains at the coach. So I'm pulling for the cartoon Tigers.
