A source told USA TODAY’s Bob Nightengale that Albert Pujols has rejected a contract proposal from the Cardinals.

It’s been long reported that the Cardinals hadn’t made an offer, but according to Nightengale’s source they did recently and Pujols turned it down. The source goes on to say that, barring a dramatic turnaround, Pujols will announce Tuesday that no additional contract talks will take place until after the World Series.

If they don't get a deal done, people in St Louis will burn down Mozeliak's house.

10 years is ridiculous

He needs to realize he's not 25 anymore

Agreed. Maybe LAA, but other than them (and IMO that is even a reach) I dunno anyone else that can afford him.

Between $120 million in MH and whatever the frick they are going to end up paying Pujols it will cripple the Cards

No way they will be able to sign some of their good young players when they come up if they throw the house at him

it sucks as a fan because you want to re-sign but you want your team to compete

and also he has said he won't allow any trades so now the cards are fricked all the way around...and for that I have an angry feeling about all of this
