I'm dumb for thinking that the Yankees will get him?

It was mainly meant to imply he would end up at a big market franchise. I see you put the Mets in there.

ETA: and I was half serious anyway. a-hole.

The Yankees have 6 more years and about $140 million invested in Teixeira.

Can the Phillies sign Pujols?

Utley 7/85
Howard 5/125
Halladay 3/60
Lee 5/120

Why not sign Pujols to about a 10/200 contract. That'll be fun when all that comes crashing down on them. Hell its gonna be fun without Pujols.

If Yankees went after and paid Pujols 10 years 30 million I would become a Royals fan in a heartbeat and swear that George Brett and Brett Saberhagen were my favorite players growing up

I really think anyone that signs Pujols to the contract he wants is asking for trouble, so I really hope the Cubs don't do it. But I couldn't think of a better way to make up for the Brock for Broglio trade than to have Pujols lead the Cubs to a pennant.

Yankees better make a move for Matt Cain once the Giants fall out of contention

would make sense if they didn't have Posey, but that would be a good move

I read that today too...

quote:

The St. Louis Post Dispatch's Jeff Gordon has a theory that's worth considering. He believes that the Royals — of all teams — would be a likely destination for Albert Pujols if he reaches free agency.

Consider the factors.

Kansas City, where Pujols attended Maple Woods Community College, is a second home for him and his wife, Dee Dee. The Royals appear to have such a deep stable of elite prospects they could mature into a version of the 2008-10 Rays by 2012 or '13, a young team capable of a sustained run. And they have such a stripped-down payroll they could give Pujols $30 million a year without straining before at least 2015, when guys like Mike Moustakas, Eric Hosmer, Lorenzo Cain, Mike Montgomery and Aaron Crow could be becoming big-ticket items.

Not buying it.

right, but the yanks strongest prospects are at catcher...maybe Posey to 1st

also those 2 arms the yanks have in AA (can't think of their names) can't be moved at all

Well maybe Slade Heathcott OF, David Adams 2B, and David Phelps RHP plus cash.
Would be Yankees #9, 12, and 15 prospects according to Baseball Prospectus
