All kiffin has to say is "hey Silas, come play for USC, you will have a chance to play for a MNC and get to live in LA and live like a rock star" he should commit momentarily after that.

It's bush league to recruit players from another school, but par for the course

LSU did quite well with an SMU refugee.. back in the day..

Fox Sports @timcates and the @PetrosAndMoney show report that Silas Redd has decided to transfer to USC.

Jason Hatcher (DE from Kentucky) will be committing to USC tomorrow night, too.

Good pickup for SC if/when confirmed.

@BFeldmanCBS: MT @adamgorney Nation's #1 recruit Robert Nkemdiche said he's considering official visits to #USC and #Oregon.

If SC can get Nkemdiche, then wow.

Best job of recruiting in college football history considering the sanctions, imo.

He's just a kid who's enjoying the process. He isn't leaving the south.

Edit: Rivals Gerard Martinez says according to his sources, Redd has NOT committed to USC.

To be continued.

..not even close to the same situation since SMU was given the death penalty.

Redd isn't even guaranteed to get significant PT at USC. At Penn State, he would be the main ball carrier, get 1000+ yards and double digit TDs and probably get drafted higher for staying at PSU over bolting for USC.

why does USC need another running back???

Lack of depth. It would be a great pick up for SC

He'll definitely play at SC but the media feeding frenzy is overrating him.

SC doesnt have enough scholarships to offer half his team to join him.

You heard me. He'll be like a freshman showing up on campus in 3 weeks trying to learn a playbook and supplant current RBs on the roster. The current USC incoming recruits had the luxury of getting ready through the summer.

Kiffin will promise him anything to get him on campus, but he's behind the 8 ball right now in comparison to every RB on the roster.

SC needs the backups...and yeah, there's no guarantee he'll start but he'll see the field in rotation.

He's better off staying at Penn State and being the man.

I hate USC, but I don't fault any team for going after PSU players. Those guys have no shot at the post season for the next four years. The next four recruiting classes at Penn St are going to be awful. The current players have a get out of jail free card, and I don't have a problem with them using it. However, nobody is forcing a kid to leave Penn St.

He's not learning the QB position. It won't be that hard of a transition. SC's depth at RB isn't great. This is a guy people are already talking about going in the first round in the Draft. If he winds up at SC, he'll see significant playing time if not start.
