I've been going to Corpus Christi Hooks games since they came here in 2005. It's amazing that in that time, the Astros farm system has gone from garbage to steadily churning our stars.

In the past 8 years, I've seen Keuchel (who was not even a major name at the time), JD Martinez, Altuve, Correa, Springer, Bregman, Devenski, and many others I'm sure I have left out. Plus, I used to frequently see a guy like Roger Clemens or Nolan Ryan at the park.

Unfortunately...I'm not really a fan of the Astros...I just love my baseball.

Yes I have. It really is an amazing place. It's just a shame what the surrounding neighborhood is now because most people will never go see Rickwood because of that. Oldest ballpark left in America for a long time now. The list of players who played there back in the day makes "Field of Dreams" look like an average day at the park.

Built in 1910 and according to their homepage over 110 Hall of Famers played on the field.
Probably the best piece of baseball history left outside of Wrigley and Fenway and it's rotting in the middle of the hood

To be fair, the Barons are easily one of the best minor league franchises around, period. And I don't mean best team, although they do win the southern league championship a fair amount.

What I mean is for fan experience. I doubt any other minor league stadium has a nicer stadium. It has the perfect location in the right size city for a minor league team. The Barons even have a better history than a lot of the "newer" major league teams. Going all the way back to the Negro League days of the Black Barons, even in modern times of being the minor league team that had Michael Jordan.

Barons are easily the GOAT minor league franchise.

pretty sure the people in Charlotte and Durham would disagree

I love Minor League Baseball. My only bummer about living where I do is that I'm 3 hours from the nearest Minor League Team (Albuquerque).

My brother in law lives in Tennessee and that fricked lives at the ballpark. Goes to different parks all the time

Biloxi has a brand new one (well, 2014 maybe?) that's really nice, plus a brewery across the street as well.

I haven't been, but Pensacola's stadium right on the water looks cool.

Yeah, but Charlotte built that stadium for a pro team. The city back drop is amazing. My rub with the Barons is they are AA. On field product is secondary, and boring. I have no clue why the Braves didn't move their AAA to Bham when they relocated them to Atl. I know they would have more than 1500 fans show up.

PROS: The ball players are much more likely to sign a ball for kids and interact with the fans

CONS: You'll likely forget who signed the ball when the kids ask the next day

I would go a good bit... I'm confident that they would draw at least as good of attendance as most low to mid A-ball teams.

It makes no sense that BR has no team

They have had teams before, all failed

If they could get some money for a new park in down town near the river it would definitely do well

Yeah, no one wants to go to Goldsby Field... there's nothing else around there to do without risking your life.

I always find time to see a minor league park or two during the summer. You never really know what to expect when you show up for some lower level games.

Triple A and Double A are loaded with beautiful stadiums, and some are getting more and more corporate like the MLB, but still a great, affordable experience.

I'm tempted to do some exploring around the Southern League or Carolina League next summer.

The Potomac Nationals in Woodbridge, VA have been getting some pretty good national pub for their promotions the last couple of seasons. Stadium sucks though.

Rickwood
is also designated a city park. Anyone can go play a pick up game or toss the ball around in the field during hours of operation. Just like Willie Mays, Ty Cobb, Hank AAron, Satchell Paige, etc. Unfortunately, its currently closed due to some structural issues.
